Designed by Daniel Ricciardo’s ex-Chief Technology Officer at Red Bull Racing, Adrian Newey, the 1-of-150 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé is the closest we’ve ever seen to a Formula 1 car for the road.
It makes sense then that the eight-time Formula 1 race winner would have the 865 kW (1,160 hp) Cosworth-built 6.5-litre naturally aspirated hybrid V12 hypercar in his collection. However, it was sad to see that Ricciardo never had the chance to enjoy the car. Despite being away from the grid for nearly 12 months, the car only has 160 kilometres on the odometer, sitting in his private collection since delivery.
The now-retired Formula 1 driver made no mistakes when ordering chassis 089. Dan spent more than £141,500 in total bespoke options from Aston Martin’s “Q” division. That includes Dichroic Dawn, nicknamed “Badger Blue” after Ricciardo’s “Honey Badger” moniker, a £30,000 option with matching roof strakes and wheel centres. Now, up for auction at Broad Arrows, the car is estimated to fetch €2,400,000 – €2,800,000 (approx. AUD$5 million).

Next to the optional paint, Dan didn’t hold back and added the optional ultra-lightweight Magnesium Performance Wheels, a £40,000 upgrade when ordered, alongside exposed 2×2 twill satin carbon fibre hardware throughout, which is a £10,000 option to match the “clam veins” and upper suspension shrouds in the same exposed 2×2 twill satin carbon.
Contrasting this is the roof panel and engine cover, seen in an optional gloss lacquer carbon. Note the “ultrafine” stainless steel Aston Martin Wings badge on the front of the car, a jewel-like touch amid the carbon.
One of the best sounding cars on the market, the optional Black tailpipes hint at the complete Inconel exhaust system that lets the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine breathe. When paired with a hybrid KERS system, with battery expertise from Rimac, the Valkyrie produces a combined output of 865 kW (1,160 hp). That’s good for a 0-100km/h time of 2.2 seconds, according to independent testing from Motortrend.

Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie was listed only hours before Ricciardo posted a cryptic post on his social media.
Posing next to a Ford Racing logo affixed to a Bronco Raptor, the racing driver’s post with the caption “More around the corner…” hints at a possible return to motorsport. While the rumour mill is running strong, the post could hint at a collaboration with Ford Racing for its push into the off-road racing segment. CEO Jim Farley has previously said that he wants Ford to be the “Porsche of off-road.”
“There’s no Porsche of off-road, and I’m shocked that people don’t think about that, and I’m very interested in that,” Farley said.
Could Ricciardo be leading the charge here? Only time will tell. For now, check out Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie at Broad Arrow’s Zoute Concours Auction 2025.
