Nissan has taken the covers off its more powerful, performance-focused Patrol NISMO at a 250-guest event in Dubai. The model has been developed by a hand-picked team of NISMO engineers with racing pedigree and serves as a range-topping model in the Middle East exclusively. It features the same VR35DDTT 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine as the standard Patrol, but sees a power increase to 495 hp (+70 hp) and 700 Nm torque in Sport mode.
This power increase now means that the hand-assembled twin-turbo V6 Patrol NISMO produces nearly 100 hp more than the range-topping V8 Patrol Warrior in Australia (298kw / 400 hp). Nissan hasn’t shared an official 0-100km/h time for the new twin-turbo V6 Patrol or the NISMO variant, but expect a time around the 6-second mark.
Other aesthetic and functional enhancements join the power increase, including NISMO-tuned suspension, 22-inch forged RAYS alloy wheels, and GT-R-inspired aerodynamics that include a three-piece rear spoiler and extended front fascia. Of course, they’ve thrown plenty of staple NISMO red-accented bodywork highlights across the exterior of the vehicle, including a rear fog light inspired by Formula-E. With

The most impressive thing about NISMO models, including the new Nissan Z NISMO, is that the enhancements made to the vehicles are backed up by real data.
Nissan says the new front bumper directs airflow to the brakes and cuts disc temps by 6% under load. Meanwhile, the 9-spoke 22-inch forged aluminium alloy wheels developed with RAYS are 23% lighter than base model wheels and enhance lateral stiffness and brake cooling. The layered rear air diffusers and side splitters enhance downforce and high-speed stability, and the NISMO-tuned suspension features E-Dampers for real-time adjustment.
The VR35DDTT 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine is a hand-assembled unit by specialists at Nissan’s Iwaki Plant in Japan and produces 495 hp (+70 hp) and 700 Nm torque in Sport mode. It’s combined with a recalibrated 9-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters and features a red engine cover and commemorative metal plate.
What we’re not so keen on is the NISMO-tuned exhaust system that’s combined with “Active Sound Enhancement (ASE),” which is a fancy term for fake engine noise.

The Nissan Patrol NISMO is a Middle East exclusive model, meaning we won’t get it in Australia. It will join the Standard Patrol and Patrol PRO-4X (off-road focused) in the UAE.
Guests were invited to view the Patrol NISMO as members of Nissan’s new ‘Red Ring Society,’ which is for NISMO owners and motorsport enthusiasts across the Middle East. Next to the car, activations at the event included heritage showcases of first-generation Patrols and Nissan Z NISMOs, as well as immersive lighting and a dramatic full-scale NISMO Ring installation.
“Since the introduction of the NISMO brand to the Middle East in 2015, Nissan has proven its passion for performance and exclusivity,” said Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President & President – Middle East, KSA, CIS – Nissan & INFINITI. “Today, the launch of the Nissan Patrol NISMO and Nissan Z NISMO is not just a response to growing customer demand, but a celebration of our rich motorsport legacy. This deep-rooted heritage that fuels our innovation allows us to deliver thrilling, confidence-inspiring driving experiences that resonate with enthusiasts across the region.”
“With every Nissan NISMO model, we strive to deliver a vehicle that speaks directly to driving enthusiasts, merging our motorsport engineering with everyday usability,” said Satoshi Komiya, Vice President, Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., and Chief Vehicle Engineer, Patrol NISMO. “The Nissan Patrol NISMO and Nissan Z NISMO have been crafted with a deep respect for regional preferences, offering not just raw performance but also a heightened emotional connection to the road.”
Five exterior colours will be available at launch, including White Pearl, Gray Metallic, Blue Metallic, Black Pearl, and exclusive Stealth Gray. It’s available with a monotone or dual-tone (black roof) exterior with contrasting NISMO red accents to match the black-and-red interior theme with plenty of carbon-fibre textures and aluminium details.
