- Nissan Australia revealed the highly exclusive Z Heritage Edition sports car.
- Only 10 examples of the vehicle will be available locally.
- It features the iconic Midnight Purple paint from the Skyline GT-R.
- The car rolls on bronze 19-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels.
- Pricing starts at AUD$77,410 before on-road costs.
- Buyers can choose a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Strictly limited to 10 units in Australia, the new Nissan Z Heritage Edition will arrive in the sought-after Midnight Purple colour, made famous on the R34 GT-R V-Spec in Midnight Purple III guise.
With bronze 19-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels, the 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine under the bonnet produces the same 298kW of power and 475Nm of torque and sends it to the rear wheels through a 6-speed close-ratio manual (with Exedy high-performance clutch) or a 9-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Both transmission options come standard with a mechanical, limited-slip differential and launch control.
Priced from AUD$77,410 before on-road costs, it sits above the Nissan Z Coupe (from AUD$76,160 before on-roads) and well below the Nissan Z Nismo (from AUD$94,065 before on-roads). Where the current-generation Z NISMO is only available with an automatic transmission, this Heritage Edition will quickly become the most sought-after model before the 2026 Z arrives in Australia later this year due to its rare colour, limited supply, and manual transmission. We expect the manual transmission to be included on the NISMO model at the end of the year, following the U.S. variant.

1/6“The Nissan Z Heritage Edition is a celebration of what the Z nameplate means to the people who’ve loved these cars for generations,” said Steve Milette, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania. “By bringing Midnight Purple to the Z, we’re honouring the shared performance DNA between two of Nissan’s most celebrated nameplates. And with only 10 available in Australia, this is a rare opportunity for true enthusiasts.”
We first saw Midnight Purple on the Skyline GT-R in the 1990s, and it quickly became one of the brand’s most sought-after colours. It evolved through several iterations, including the famous Midnight Purple III on the R34 GT-R V-Spec and the final edition Nissan GT-R T-Spec. Here, the brand has chosen a colour-changing Midnight Purple that shifts with lighting conditions.
The Midnight Purple will sit over 19-inch bronze RAYS forged-alloy wheels, providing a sophisticated contrast to the Heritage Edition’s exterior.

Besides the colour, wheels, and exclusivity, the Nissan Z Heritage Edition continues to feature a 12.3-inch TFT driver display with multiple modes, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats with leather-accented seat trim, and active noise cancellation and sound enhancement.
Safety features include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Intelligent Cruise Control.
The current Z range is available at Nissan dealers nationwide and is backed by Nissan’s comprehensive Nissan MORE warranty, up to 10 years/300,000 km, and up to 10 years/300,000 km of Roadside Assistance when serviced at authorised Nissan dealers. It’s one of the longest warranty programs of any car brand in Australia. More information about the Z can be found at the brand’s website, linked below.
