In this PopCorners commercial, directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, Jesse is wowed by Walt’s latest creation – an air-popped snack that’s anything but ordinary. “Everyone’s going to want a piece of this,” he exclaims. But Walt quickly reminds him, “No, we don’t eat our own supply.” From there, Jesse suggests they pay a visit to their old distributor, Tuco Salamanca (played by Raymond Cruz). After a taste test, Tuco is impressed, declaring his iconic catchphrase, “Tight! Tight! Tight!” and demanding seven flavours, not six. The ad ends with Tuco excitedly saying, “We’re going to eat a lot of snacks together.”
This reunion marks the third time Cranston and Paul have teamed up since the finale of the award-winning TV series. They previously appeared together in the Breaking Bad follow-up movie El Camino in 2019 and the final season of Better Call Saul in 2022. And let’s not forget Cranston’s cheeky reprisal of Walter White in a 2015 ad for Esurance.
The chemistry between Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul looks as strong as ever. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about whether Walt and Jesse might have more adventures in them, Cranston said, “We’ve stopped saying, ‘This is the last time we’re ever going to do this.’ Who knows? It could be. I’m not sure, but… you know, we’ll just leave it to the fates.”
Tune in during Super Bowl LVII to see the commercial air.
