The first half of 2019 is shaping up nicely for fans of first-person shooters. We’ve got Rage 2 in May and Far Cry New Dawn mid-February. Although the game that’s been impressing us for a while now is Metro Exodus. The story trailer has just dropped, giving us a better look at its gorgeous, radiated world.
The story trailer features a host of new Metro characters and locations protagonist Artyom and his band of Spartans will visit as they journey across post-apocalyptic Russia. We’re talking the frozen winter streets of Moscow to the fiery summer sands of the Caspian desert. Plus, there’s a train. Who doesn’t love a train? The trailer is narrated from the perspective of Anna, the Spartan Order’s top sniper and Artyom’s wife.
Metro Exodus is the third game in the popular Russian post-apocalyptic series inspired by the Metro novels by author Dmitry Glukhovsky. It’s set quarter-century after a nuclear war devastated the earth, with a few thousand survivors still clinging to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro. They have struggled against the poisoned elements, fought mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, and suffered the flames of civil war. Artyom always believed that there was life beyond the Metro – so he and his crew flee the ruins of Moscow and embark on an epic year-long journey into the unknown.
Metro Exodus is described as an epic, story-driven first-person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.
The story trailer is said to be the first in a series of upcoming gameplay reveals leading towards the release of Metro Exodus on 15th February for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
