It’s gearing up to be a big year in video games about skateboarding, with Activision Blizzard finally announcing that, yep, that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster they’ve been teasing is real, and its coming on 11 July, for AU$74.95.
Launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and the Nintendo Switch (and probably the Switch 2, but we’ll see on that one), THPS3+4 brings together enhanced versions of 2001’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, and 2002’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, along with new skaters, new courses, and cross-platform multiplayer.
Each skate park from THPS3 and 4 have been “authentically remade in jaw-dropping 4K resolution”, according to Activision, while a whole new set of parks are being added in, such as a water park with “grindable slides”. Plus, the game promises to bring back the original songs from the games’ soundtracks, while also delivering some new music to skate to.
Plus, in a fun little example of corporate synergy, if you pre-order the digital deluxe edition of the game (which will boost the price of entry to AU$104.95) you’ll be able to play as either the Doom Slayer himself or the hellish Revenant.
The revised and revamped collection comes almost five years after the first two games were brought together in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 bundle, which delivered two of the best skating games ever made in a modern wrapper, and earned a metacritic rating of 89.
Which Skaters Can I Play As?
