With a sophisticated name like that, it’s no wonder we’re ready to sport these on our next holiday. Based on their best selling casual Weekend Short, the bottoms have been reimagined into a swimwear staple.

Classic with a modern refresh, the surf short is also versatile for a casual outing. Features include an elastic waist complimented with a mesh liner. A drawcord with metal tips can be adjusted to your liking, while two side pockets provide extra room. The self-draining back pocket is also a unique feature that really shows the care put into this piece. With a velcro closure and key holder, the sneaky compartment can be used for any keys or valuables before you hit the water.
Todd shared in a press statement the latest venture for the brand, “The decision to move into our own swimwear was an easy one after seeing the incredible demand for it at our East Hampton store and with swim collaborations with other brands over the years. Quality and fit is always essential and most importantly, it needs to meet the customers’ needs. We want the brand to be a one-stop shop for the modern gentleman, so that when they come in to buy our famous Seasoft Linen shirting or sweater polos, they can now see swimwear they know they’ll immediately love.”

And that love has in fact been immediate. Though we appreciate the details on the trunks, it’s the length hitting right at mid-thigh that gives us the perfect fit. As an expert in American menswear, it’s only natural that Todd Snyder gravitated towards swim. Known for his distinct New York sensibility, the American fashion designer has always looked to the contemporary city man to inform his designs.
His impeccable craftsmanship has led him to work with Polo Ralph Lauren, The Gap and J. Crew. Unsurprisingly, he currently operates four stores around the East Coast – two located in Manhattan (Madison Park and Tribeca), a third in East Hampton, and a recently opened one in Greenwich, Connecticut. There’s no plans of stopping as he intends to venture into Brooklyn in the near future as well.
Though it may be quite a trek to get over to NYC, we’ll take a pair of these trunks in every colour available please. Lucky for us, the collection is currently available in twelve colours and patterns with Todd Snyder to introduce more throughout the season.
