Brooks Brothers is Back: Iconic Chain Returns to Australia With Autumn/Winter 23 Collection
The old fashion adage goes ‘a classic never dies’ and that’s especially true of American icon Brooks Brothers. Less than three years after it was reported that the menswear chain was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Brooks Brothers has returned to Australian shores. Through a joint venture between Authentic Brands Group and shopping mall operator Simon Property Group, the chain is starting afresh and it’s bringing a new Autumn/Winter 2023 collection along for the ride.

The new collection, the first under new creative director Michael Bastian, doesn’t stray far from the path. It pays homage to the brand’s iconic heritage by reintroducing and reinventing much-loved menswear and womenswear designs with modern interpretations. Along with this new collection, Brooks Brothers also features iconic product staples, including seersucker, madras, argyle, the non-iron shirt as well as the original polo button-down collar.
While it’s not exactly groundbreaking, Bastian’s approach speaks to his respect for heritage and design, not unlike what Brendon Babenzien is doing with fellow American label J.Crew. According to Brooks Brothers, the Autumn/Winter 2023 collection is a glimpse of the brand’s future, underpinned by premium menswear items, including non-iron shirts, jackets, sweaters, polos and rugby shirts in a range of fabrics, vintage-inspired colours and patterns. Each of these new pieces speaks to the brand’s heritage, offering subtle nods to Brooks Brothers’ legacy of quality and craftsmanship.

The Autumn/Winter 2023 women’s collection features contemporary versatile tailored silhouettes and styles that are crafted in luxurious materials and are available in a variety of colours and vintage-inspired patterns. From crisp tailored shirts, polos, soft bow blouses and polished dresses all the way to tailored blazers, coats and jackets. Along with a selection of pants, shorts and skirts. Each of these is designed to let you seamlessly mix and match with what you already have.
