Extra Butter x adidas Happy Gilmore Clothing Collection

It’s been 25 years since Happy Gilmore defeated Shooter McGavin at the Tour Championship and heroically saved his grandmother’s house from foreclosure. To celebrate, fans cannot only re-watch the Adam Sandler comedy for the umpteenth time, but also slide their way into some fresh gear. adidas and lifestyle brand Extra Butter have marked the anniversary with three collaborative clothing lines.

“Twenty-five years ago, a fictional character named Happy Gilmore broke the mould on what it meant to be a golfer, and we wanted to celebrate that with a unique collaboration and collection,” Extra Butter co-founder and chief executive, Ankur Amin said.

The limited release contains memorabilia that blend golf and streetwear in honour of the film’s antagonist Shooter, Happy’s mentor coach Chubbs, and of course Happy himself.

The legendary Shooter McGavin is commemorated in a “capsule that reflects streetwear’s disruption in golf”. Fans will want to get their hands on Shooter’s coveted Gold Jacket in the form of an adicross Bomber Jacket, which features a ‘pro golfers tour championship’ inspired Extra Butter crest.

The gold motif is extended with the Shooter Ultraboost 1.0, upgraded with plush suede, gold-fleck PRIMEKNIT, and an imprint of the famous “Shooter” hand gesture. More subtle details include a sublimated graphic insole from the film, and a special webbing across the striped cage that can stash those elusive golf tees.

The Chubbs capsule features on-course performance gear, which celebrates his traditional golf aesthetic with a touch of extra flair from the Extra Butter team. Pastels and argyle patterns are integrated into polos, pleated pats, shorts and a tech anorak that uses Adidas’ PRIMEKNIT and WARPKNIT technology.

Each piece is decorated with embroidery memorialising Chubb’s iconic line “It’s All In The Hips”. The legend of Chubbs also finds its way onto the spiked Adidas ZG21 shoe, which is literally made of gator skin, as a reminder of that damn alligator that took his hand and eventually his life. #RIPchubs

Happy’s collection centres around comfy streetwear perfect for a post-round beer at the 19th hole. The capsule kicks off with the Adilette BoostSlide displaying anniversary branding. The collection also includes graphic tees, cosy sweatpants, and a cooler bag – making this the perfect ensemble for a lazy 9 holes and a few beers on the local links.

Additional components of the drop include Phat Scooter accessories, gold Vice Golf Pro Golf Balls, Asher Golf customised leather golf gloves, head covers and bags.

The full Extra Butter x Happy Gilmore Collection releases exclusively in-store at both Extra Butter locations and online on extrabutterny.com and the Extra Butter mobile app on Friday, June 25.
