They say nothing in life is free, but we’re not so sure about that. One of our favourite things to do with Feel-Good Friday is to bring you freebies, and this week we’ve got some crackers: from free Nike runners, to free caviar, there’s a lot of good stuff being given away in the next week.

Of course you’ll need to deal with some qualifying factors, but we tend to think its usually worth it. Have a look to see what you can get your hands on, and enjoy this week’s Feel-Good Friday.

Get Your Hands on Free* Caviar at Franca until 9 June

With World Caviar Day fast approaching, Sydney brasserie Franca is looking to share the love with a reimagining of it’s signature Moreton Bay Bug Roll dish—by adding a free* side of Oscietra Caviar until this Sunday, 8 June.

The Bug Roll is worth $28, and a cheeky side of caviar usually costs $30, so there’s some legit savings to be had. There are always restrictions, though, and in order to qualify for this one you’ll need to be one of the ten lucky people Franka serves each day between 5 and 6 pm. Look, we never said it’d be easy, but if you’ve got a taste for caviar and want to get in on a delicious roll as well, it’s probably worth attempting to book ahead.

You don’t need a booking, but I have a feeling this’ll sell out quick.

The Iconic Giving Free Nike Runners to the Fittest Among Us

This one is for all the runners in Sydney itching for a new challenge this weekend. For the next two Saturdays, 7 and 14 June, fashion marketplace The Iconic is looking to give away 50 fresh pairs of Nike runners to whoever can run faster than a van. Yes, really, but let me explain.

On each Saturday, The Iconic will reveal a ‘secret location’ through it’s Instagram account that you’ll have to get to within 3 hours, signifying The Iconic’s typical delivery time for its products. Not only do you have to get there, though, you’ll also need to show proof that you’ve already run 5km that day—whether that be at the crack of dawn, or literally dragging yourself across the finish line—before The Iconic’s delivery van rocks up at 11am.

Come prepared with a pair of Nike sneakers wishlisted, and proof of your run on any fitness app, to get your hands (or feet) on some goodies.

Aesop’s Queer Library Returns to Melbourne Next Week

Australian luxury cosmetics brand Aesop is bringing its Queer Library initiative back for the fifth year running, with the brand’s Prahan store being transformed into a library filled with books written by LGBTQIA+ authors.

The books on show will be filled with stories focused around a central theme of ‘In Other Words’: celebrating the liberating possibilities of LGBTQIA+ self expression, Aesop said, as well as the stories that can be found outside of hetero-normative constraints.

If that sounds interesting to you, Aesop’s Prahan store will be hosting the initiative from 11 to 15 June, with all visitors gifted a complimentary book of their choice care of the brand’s Queer Library collaborator, Penguin Random House.

Fujifilm Launching ‘The Moment Club’ this July

A little further out but no less exciting, Fujifilm is taking us back to the 80s with the launch of its X half camera—and it’s throwing a party to celebrate: ‘The Moment Club’, a first-of-its-kind experience showing off how cameras used to be.

The event will aim to teach aspiring photographers how to use the X half effectively, inlcuding how to take the ultimate bathroom selfie, and how to take the best cocktail snaps. It’ll be held at Baptist Street Rec Club, Redfern, on Saturday 12 July, and tickets will cost $25.

“We’re thrilled to launch The Moment Club and give people a space to disconnect, have fun, and enjoy the moment all while offering them a medium to express themselves creatively,” said Fujifilm Australia’s head of marketing, electronic imaging and optical devices division, Leanne Hughes.

“We can’t wait for people to get hands-on and create something that lasts.”
