The Miltzen frame from Moscot can trace its origins all the way back to the 1930s when it made its first debut. Over the nearly century that they have been around, the Miltzen frames have continued to be popular, and relatively unchanged. Now Moscot is adding custom tints to the lenses that come in a rainbow of colours.
The new tints are available in 20 colours, ranging from Mellow Yellow to Purple Nurple, Broadway Blue, and Forest Wood. The frames are all handcrafted using Italian acetate. They feature two adjoined dot rivets and a keyhole nose bridge for added comfort. The frames open and close using 3-barrel hinges. At the temple, the Moscot logo is engraved. The frames were named for Uncle Heshy, who for whatever reason was called “Uncle Miltzen.” Each of the lenses for the frames is tinted by hand, which means that each lens will be completely unique and will vary just slightly. The frames and tinted lenses were designed by 5th Generation, Zack Moscot in New York City.
As unisex frames, the sunglasses look good on just about anyone. You just need to decide which colour best suits you, or pick multiple colours for different situations. You will have to pay a bit, but even at $360, the glasses are a great deal for a style that has been around for nearly 100 years.
For over 105 years, Moscot has been making quality eyewear. Their dedication to crafting quality has seen them continue to make their frames completely by hand with only the highest quality materials. The frames are designed in-house and then carefully inspected before they are sent out. They offer a wide range of frames and lenses as well, so make sure to check out their full offering.
