According to R.M. Williams, the new seasonal collection is inspired by the unbounded promise of adventure. It features refreshed classics alongside new and easy-wearing styles of boots, apparel and accessories designed for portability and ease of travel. It also harks back to the very first RMs, originally created for the challenging outback and the great journeys of the past. The campaign is split into different chapters each of which celebrates and depicts the new menswear and womenswear ranges.
The first chapter, ‘For The Riders’, depicts a family’s journey in search of new experiences, comforted and supported in hardwearing R.M.Williams apparel, accessories and footwear. This is followed by the ‘For The Fathers’, which tells the story of three generations and their connection with the land and one another, along with timeless gifts and a selection of quality wardrobe staples grounded in natural fibres. Finally, we have the ‘For The Weekenders’, which follows a group of friends on a boardroom-to-bush escape, fully kitted out in easy-wearing styles that are able to walk the city streets and explore the wild outback terrain with equal ease.

The seasonal colour palette also echos the rugged elegance of the outback, as it takes inspiration from the organic tones of Earth’s extremes with its rich yellows and terracotta hues. These collide with icy blues and deep moss greens, contrasted against Australia’s desert landscape and its warming colours.
Looking to the collection itself, hardy, versatile pieces make up the new menswear range, best typified by pieces such as the new lace-up Risden Boot, Norseman Jacket and Powelltown Jacket. The Melton Jacket also marks the return of Australian-made leather outerwear for the first time in 20 years. Signature denim silhouettes make a return with a durable appeal, as well as functional shirts inspired by classic workwear.

The new womenswear range is all about the collision of heritage silhouettes and modern sensibility. Elegant dresses, versatile separates and premium outerwear layers that will stand the test of time take centre stage. The new range treats us with comforting Falls Coats and the Prevelly Rider Jacket as well as the introduction of new seasonal prints that capture native flora, seen across dresses, blouses and t-shirts. The new collection will be available from 11 July 2022, with additional drops to follow in August and October.
