Nike Air Max 1 Sport Red
On March 26th Nike will celebrate Air Max Day. This year is a extra special with it being the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1, the style that started it all. For this occasion, Nike have released the Air Max 1 OG Sport Red. It comes to us in all its retro glory with the grey, white and sport red upper alongside the white midsole and famous Air Max unit in the heel. What I really love about this release is that Nike have gone all out to make us feel like its 1987, bringing the sneaker to us in the original shape and shoe box that it came in. These sold out instantly everywhere.
Nike Air Max 90 Ultra 2.0 Flyknit Crimson Red
Another notable release in this years Nike Air Max Day collection is an ultralight Flyknit Air Max 90. Releasing in a few colourways, the Crimson Red is another throwback, this time to the original Infrared colourway of the 90. The one piece Flyknit upper in white and grey sits on top the ultra 2.0 midsole that’s white and crimson red. The new Ultra 2.0 is a features an updated midsole, making the shoe incredibly light and flexible on foot. Overall, the flyknit and midsole combine to make this the comfiest Air Max 90 yet. Grab them now at select Hype DC stores and Nike online.
Nike PG1 Obsidian/Gold
It might be a month of Air Max releases at Nike but their basketball brand has snuck in a great release with the first colourway of the PG1. This is the first shoe between Paul George, All Star for the Indiana Pacers, and Nike. As a low top sneaker with a forefoot strap, these are good for both performance basketball and street style. The upper is an obsidian blue with violet and gold accents and a white midsole. This is one of the nicer Nike basketball releases of the year so far and at a good price too, be sure to grab them from select Nike basketball retailers and Nike online.
adidas Iniki Runner
adidas just doesn’t seem to be letting up with their releases this year. This time they have bought us the Iniki Runner, a retro looking upper featuring modern comfort and style. The style is the newest lifestyle silhouette from adidas and has the boost midsole that we all love. The upper pays homage to adidas’ roots, looking similar to a spezial or gazelle. This first release features red and navy colourways with a canvas and suede upper finished with the iconic three white stripes, white boost midsole and a gum sole. The Iniki is incredibly nice but limited, so grab them before they rise to the popularity of adidas styles before them from an adidas originals store or adidas online.
adidas NMD R1 Glitch Grey Heather
It seems that with another week, we are graced with another NMD release. This time adidas have bought us the ‘glitch’ NMD pack, featuring a glitch pattern on the upper in red, black and grey styles. The best of the three is the solid Grey Heather version with patterned grey and off white upper made from a stretch-mesh. This colourway also has white three stripes and a white heel tab atop the iconic white boost midsole and is one of the cleaner looking pairs of NMD’s that we have seen lately. These are all sold out on adidas online keep your eyes peeled for any instores.
adidas Stan Smith Boost
The Stan Smith has to be one of the most popular and recognisable sneakers that there is, however it is not the comfiest. This time around adidas has set out to try and change that with the addition of a boost midsole. The Stan Smith boost come looking just like the Stan Smith we love, all white leather upper with those green accents on the heel and tongue. These update the classic style with added boost comfort for all day wear. Grab them in this and other colours at select Hype DC and adidas originals stores.
New Balance 247 Grey
While Nike and adidas are having a huge month with their releases, New Balance is also hitting back with some great releases of their own. To start the month, they have released a 247 pack consisting of a black, white and grey pair. My favourite in the collection is the grey. An engineered mesh grey upper is finished nicely by the traditional ‘N’ on the upper and 247 branding on the sock liner. New Balance has brought us a clean, stylish and comfortable sneaker at a great price. Get now at select Hype DC stores and Online.
Reebok Zoku Runner Black
There was Flyknit, then Primeknit and now reebok are bringing us their version called Ultra Knit. The Zoku runner is Reeboks newest lifestyle silhouette combining modern stylings with a heritage feel of the Aztec runner from 1979. The Zoku features a mid cut upper made entirely of Ultra Knit with an opaque lace cage on the quarter and DMX foam midsole for comfort. Having had a great run bringing us back classics like the Club C and Ventilator it is great to see Reebok bringing us something new and innovative. The first pack of these in all monochrome colours is available at select Hype DC stores and online.
