Whether you see them as a commodity or a way to express your inner hype beast, sneakers have grown to cult-like status over the last decade. Above all, there’s no arguing that sneakers are collectible (and wearable) works of art. To celebrate, we compiled a list of the best sneaker stores in Sydney. And while each store is exceptional in its own right, you’ll have to decide whether or not you’re looking for the latest sneakers at retail prices or some of the rare and exclusive brands at secondary market ‘resale’ prices. Of course, we included both options on our list.

Expect a vast range of unique kicks alongside some of the best clothing brands to match and passionate staff to help you choose your next pair. One of the most recognised retail stores in Australia, they even have a few collaboration pairs with ASICS, check out their Gel-1090 and Skycourt.

The best place to shop rare and sought-after sneakers for retail price is the Supply Store, which is the only store in the country with a Nike Tier 0 account, Supreme account, and BAPE account (amongst other rare brands). They’re a globally recognised retailer, one of the only places in the world that played host to the Off-White x Nike ‘The Ten’ collection with an in-person activation (with a Virgil Abloh in attendance), and it’s no surprise to find them on our list of the best sneaker stores in Sydney. If you want to pick up some rare sneakers on the release date, Supply Store will host raffles and in-person launches, from the latest Air Max to the rarest Air Jordan collaborations. Solemate Sneakers is the OG of sneaker resale stores in Sydney, and they’ve recently opened a new flagship store on Bathurst St in the CBD. Established in 2012, they offer one of the city’s widest ranges of rare drops and limited-run sneakers. The facade is reminiscent of a traditional sneaker consignment, but its real strength is the rarity of the products. Their shelves are adorned with some of the rarest sneakers in town. Expect all the latest Nike Dunks, Air Jordans, and rare New Balances alongside some fresh Sauconys and Vans.

There’s a good chance you’ll see something you’ve never seen before at INCU, with a range of designer labels from Europe that you can’t find anywhere else, think Adieu, Hender Scheme, and Our Legacy. 5. Subtype
One of the original sneaker stores in Sydney, Subtype, has been a major player since it opened its doors in Palings Lane in 2014. That store closed after the team moved to Melbourne in 2018. However, they’ve since re-opened in Sydney with a flagship store that makes the shortlist as one of the biggest and best-looking on our list. Just around the corner from their original location, the store has a mixture of rare Nike, adidas, and Jordan sneakers, but they also like to keep things on-trend with a range of Salomon, On’s, and rare New Balance releases. Of course, no pair of sneakers is without an equally strong outfit, and the team have a ‘Subtype Curated‘ label with a range of quality basics. They also host limited sneaker raffles. 6. KAFSH AU
What started as a side hustle in 2020 has grown to become a retail store and online business for owner Ollie. He’s selling rare and sought-after sneakers in Sydney and has become a favourite in the community for his selection of TNs after a few viral hits. However, that’s not all he stocks. You’ll find everything from Nike Dunks, ASICS, Off-White collabs, and Air Jordans in this store. What we like most about KAFSH AU are the deals and fair pricing that are often cheaper than the bigger resale stores on this list. While the focus is sneakers, you’ll also find select vintage clothing alongside popular brands like GEEDUP.

7. The Back Wall
One of Sydney’s newest sneaker stores is also one of the best. The Back Wall is a family-owned business specialising in customer service and details, with a range of sneakers exploring more than the basics you’ll find at your local Footlocker. We particularly love their range of Saucony shoes, with classics such as the Shadow 6000 sitting on the shelves alongside cult-like shoes such as the Nike Panda Dunk Low. While they’re a retail store, a few rarer shoes are listed at fair resale prices. Did we mention they also serve food and snacks? If you’re lucky, they might be doing a cake special where your Saucony strawberry cheesecakes actually come with a slice of strawberry cheesecake.

8. Secret Sneaker Store
Secret Sneaker Store has become Sydney’s worst-kept sneaker secret from its humble beginnings in World Square. While you can often find sneakers cheaper through online secondary-market sites such as StockX and GOAT, Secret Sneaker Store puts the rarest sneakers right there. Expect everything from the discontinued adidas Yeezy sneakers to the rarest Nike Dunk Lows. We’ve successfully sold a few sneakers through SSS through their consignment program and had no issues. We ended up getting paid more than StockX was offering at the time.

Like Secret Sneaker Store, The Real Deal puts the latest sneakers in front of you at above-market prices. Of course, those who know what they’re looking for might spot the odd pair priced a little too high (the rule of thumb for in-person resale businesses is market price +20%), but there’s no mistaking the range that’s filled to the brim with sought-after models. Of course, you’ll find all your favourite Jordan 1 Lows in a range of Nike Dunks.

Home to some of the most sought-after sneakers in the business, the store has you covered for everything from Nike Dunks to Yeezys and Jordans. We consider this one of the best sneaker stores in Sydney because they serve a particular sub-culture that you won’t find anywhere else. With everything from the most sought-after Yeezys to the latest Nike Air Max’s, Crep Shop is making waves around the city for its high-profile clientele. More than a sneaker store, the shop is driving the culture forward with in-store meet and greets (reminding us of the OG Culture Kings days) with the likes of Kid Ink, Central Cee, and Knucks Music dropping by to meet fans and pick up some fresh kicks.

How Man of Many Chose the Best Sneaker Stores in Sydney
Sydney is home to some of the best sneaker stores in Australia thanks to the variety on offer. And while the list is a little top-heavy, we’ve done our best to pick from the wide variety of stores on offer. Of course, the best Air Jordans are always going to hold historic value as some of the most sought-after pairs at any sneaker store, but our list has more than your run-of-the-mill Nike Air Max’s and TNs. We’ve made sure to include stores that house gorp-core classics from Salomon to minimalist numbers from Common Projects. Selecting entirely from personal experiences, our team of editors have personally dealt with every store on this list and many remain regular customers with the top selections to this day.
