New Balance 990v5 Vegan: Release Date, Price, Style
While we eagerly await the release of the New Balance 990v6 later this year, the 990v5 has been treated to a chickpea flavoured lunch, going Vegan for the first time and providing NB fans with a clean monotone design in the process. In a celebration of its 40-year history, the brand has successfully dropped clean-cut iterations of its best ‘MADE series’ sneakers on what seems a weekly basis over the last 12-months. We’ve delved into the JJJJounds, the Aime Leon Dores, and the Salehe Bembury’s but it’s the general release colours that have sneakerheads excited.

New Balance 990v5 Release Information
Release date: February 17th 2022
Where to buy: Above The Clouds, Subtype, Imran Potato’s Terrifying Slip-Ons Look Like Real Human Feet
Price: from $300 AUD
Like that Vegan friend who can’t stop telling you how good their plant-based diet is, the 990v5 has been treated to a host of vegan-friendly materials, including embossed vegan synthetic overlays and mesh plugs on the upper. Like most 990s, the sneaker’s midsole is made with ENCAP and the outsole consists of rubber. You forget how comfortable sneakers can be once you don a pair of 990s.
As the shoe falls into the premium New Balance MADE series it contains a domestic value of 70% or greater, and most importantly, it’s manufactured in the United States, as they have been for over 75 years. For Australians looking to get their hands on the model, New Balance will release a limited number of the Vegan MADE990v5 on Get Creative on the Course with FootJoy’s Customisation Platform on February 17, 2022, with a suggested retail price of $340. The MADE990v5 will also be available on Above The Clouds and Subtype.
