Travis Scott has collaborated with just about everyone over the last couple of years. From Fortnite to McDonald’s, La Flame has campaigned with some of the biggest brands on earth. And at the top of the list are his Jordans, where has made his creative mark across some of the most sought after sneakers we’ve ever seen.
For his latest sneaker and apparel collection, the Houston native has summoned H-Town NBA Legend and Jordan Brand partner Richard ‘Rip’ Hamilton for campaign imagery. And in the words of DJ Khaled, we’ve got another one. The powerful video captures Hamilton isolated in the desert rocking a pair of the Jordan 6 ‘British Khaki’ sneakers along with a range of apparel from the collection including the technical utility vest, hoodie, and pants. Basketball fans won’t go without noticing Rip wearing his famous face mask, which he wore throughout his playing career after breaking his nose on multiple occasions. The directors made sure to capture Hamilton donning the mask prior to swishing in a free throw, a spot where he shot 85% from for his career.

Richard Hamilton sat down for an interview with Jordan brand ahead of the April 30th release, outlining the importance of the campaign to his legacy on and off the court. No stranger to the spotlight or rare sneakers, Rip influenced sneaker culture throughout the 2000s with both his play on the court and the rare ‘Player Edition’ sneakers he released in collaboration with Jordan Brand. When asked about his eagerness to link for the campaign, he likened his play on the court to Scotts ability to transcend the fashion and music industries;
“I often talk about seeing the game from a different lens, seeing plays before they actually happen. When you talk about Travis and how artistic he is, it’s the same thing. When Travis reached out, I was like, Man, I’m all in. This is what I love. This is what I do,” he said.
Humble to say the least, Hamilton was once told by MJ that he wasn’t good enough to wear his shoes. Today, he’s widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of his era, a maestro of the midrange and most importantly an NBA Champion. But what stands out the most about the Air Jordan “British Khaki” collection the most?
“The Air Jordan VI is one of my favourites, even just to rock around the house. The materials are going to keep the shoe looking good no matter how old it gets. I love the glow-in-the-dark soles and the different lace colours, especially the bright orange,” he said.
