Hodinkee has teamed up with luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer for its third collaboration, unveiling the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer × Hodinkee. Building on previous collaborations the Carrera Skipper and Carrera Dato, which paid homage to TAG Heuer’s rich history, this new timepiece revives the iconic Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer, originally produced by Heuer from the 1950s to the 1970s. The design of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer × Hodinkee captures the essence of this vintage model while updating it for modern adventures, reflecting Hodinkee’s dedication to blending heritage with contemporary style.
The watch retains the colour scheme and bezel design of the 1968 model, embracing TAG Heuer’s modern spirit while paying tribute to the mid-century era of watchmaking. Housed in a 42mm Carrera “Glassbox” case with a domed sapphire crystal, it offers durability and clarity, essential for life on the water. The black opaline dial features sky and royal blue accents, and the Seafarer logo is subtly placed at 6 o’clock, maintaining the aesthetic of the original reference. These timepieces, available in 37mm and 43mm, feature a mix of materials like coloured rubber, stainless steel, 18-carat pink gold, and black ceramic. The first model, in 18-carat pink gold, has a grey rubber bezel and a rhodium and ivory dial, while the second, in stainless steel, pairs a blue rubber bezel with a smoked blue dial. The final model, a 43mm chronograph, combines stainless steel with black ceramic, featuring a smoked bronze dial and a brown alligator strap.
