Soak in 360-Degree Views at Strato, 40 Storey High Bar and Restaurant in Melbourne

Welcome to Strato Melbourne. The 40-storey-high restaurant and bar might be a familiar face for Melbournians but we promise this refreshed venue will surprise with an updated menu, a lower price point, and a new list of delicious cocktails. Culminating in an extravagant bar and dining experience with 360-degree views of Melbourne City and beyond.

Sitting pride of place on the 40th floor of the Oakwood Premier, elevated 139 above the ground with views of Melbourne city, across Port Phillip Bay, and the Yarra River. Guests should look forward to hard-to-rival dining and bar experiences, with the restaurant and bar, alongside two V.I.P. function areas with private bars, a luxurious bar, and a floating outdoor lounge.

In just nine months, the Strato Melbourne team have delivered over 40,000 dishes to visitors. When we had the chance to visit back in 2022, we couldn’t get past their Lemon pepper grilled chicken and also the Beetroot risotto with whipped goat’s cheese and walnuts. In the bar, the folks told us that the most ordered cocktails include the Kiwifruit Daiquiri (Kiwifruit, Snow Pea, Coconut & White Rum & Lime Citric Solution) and the Moondance (French Vodka, White Crème de Cacao & Smoked Passionfruit). Although, we typically stick to our whiskeys!

Upon arrival at the Oakwood Premier Melbourne, guests will enter Strato via a private entry in the hotel’s lobby. Once ascended to the 40th floor, patrons will find themselves amongst modern Milanese-style décor and projection artwork – an immersive concept showcasing multiple different loop videos of Melbourne from a bird’s view. The concept was developed by The Sequence Group to allow guests to experience the height of the bar and restaurant when they arrive at the venue.

To the left of the foyer is the main lounge, which boasts a 16-metre stone bar and an alfresco terrace, resembling that of the famous rooftops in New York City. With seven-metre-tall glass windows, guests can enjoy views of the city skyline whilst enjoying appetisers, seasonal cocktails, wines and locally crafted beers. The restaurant portion of Strato provides contemporary modern Australian cuisine.

The venue is also equipped with exclusive dining spaces dedicated to supporting special occasions, private functions and V.I.Ps who need their own bar and privacy with a view on level 41.
