If there’s one event that has never failed to set the Man of Many office abuzz, it’s Sydney Whisky Week. This annual celebration has always provided the opportunity to bring Sydney’s whisky-loving community together in order to taste some of the most unforgettable drams the world has to offer. However, after three years, a week no longer feels like enough time to squeeze in all that incredible whisky goodness. As such, 2024 will see this annual collaboration between Man of Many and The Whisky List return bigger and better than ever. That’s right, we’re proud to announce the first annual Sydney Whisky Month!
Kicking off festivities with The Whisky Show Sydney on May 18th, this will be a month to remember. From exclusive tastings courtesy of some of the world’s finest whisky makers, to unique experiences served up by Sydney’s finest venues, this will be one you don’t want to miss. Read on to discover more!
The Sydney Whisky Show
- Date: Saturday, 18th May
- Time: Session 1: 12pm to 4pm, Session 2: 5pm to 9pm
- Venue: Overseas Passenger Terminal, The Rocks
Kicking off Sydney Whisky Month with a bang, this unmissable event boasts more than 100 different whiskies from all over the world—including Scotland, USA, Australia, and more—just waiting to be sampled. From the new and exclusive to limited editions and stone-cold classics, there’s no better place to be if you’re a fan of the dram. The show will boast a pop-up bottle shop, rare-whisky bar, and a live band, as well as a range of food trucks serving up delicious bites to enhance your whisky sampling even further. Plus, Lark Distillery will be pouring a limited-edition Lark PX single-cask bottling, which you can only sample and buy at the Sydney Whisky Show. We really can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon or evening.

Glen Moray Week
- Dates: Monday, 20th May to Saturday, 25th May

Whether you’re just starting your whisky journey or you’re already an experienced expert, don’t miss the chance to visit Grain Bar between May 20th and 25th to discover Glen Moray’s incredible (and carefully curated) ‘Explorer Range’. Of particular note are two experimental limited-edition Glen Moray expressions secured by The Whisky List for Sydney Whisky Month; the 2015 Rioja Cask Matured Single Malt and the 2012 Rioja Cask Finished Peated Single Malt. These explore the intriguing characteristics that red wine casks can bring to the distilling process, resulting in fascinating examples of how Glen Moray’s focus on innovation and flavour ensures each of its whiskies is unlike anything else on the market. To put it simply, they’re as rare and unmissable as they are absolutely delicious.

Sydney’s whisky-loving community is invited to join a Glen Moray consumer masterclass on May 21st at Grain Bar, where guests will be guided through a range of tastings by Glen Moray’s global brand ambassador, Iain Allan. Joining Iain will also be Judith Zhu, who was named one of Australia’s Top 25 bartenders last year. Stauning Week
- Dates: Tuesday, 28th May to Sunday, 2nd June
- Venue: Hickson House, 6 Hickson Rd, The Rocks
As the maker of Denmark’s finest whisky, Stauning will take over Hickson House from May 29th to June 2nd, during which time visitors will be treated to the delights of the Danish dram. With practices like automated floor malting and direct firing a whopping 24 small copper alembic stills, even Scottish distillers have been inspired by their approach to whisky-making. You won’t want to miss the chance to experience some of the stunning expressions that have secured this innovative distillery’s place on the map.
Special Event: Rye & Records – A Dinner with Danish Whisky and Old School Vinyls

Guests are invited to join Stauning at Hickson House for an evening of what the distillery describes as “the full hygge experience”. This means relaxing and enjoying the good things in life with good people. Throughout the night, Stauning will offer an enticing selection of its single-malt and rye whiskies served alongside a delicious four-course meal. All of this will be set to the sound of a dedicated vinyl DJ playing hand-selected tracks designed to imbue the evening with a perfectly playful ambience. Skål!
Angel’s Envy Week

In celebration of Sydney Whisky Month, we invite you to experience one of the world’s finest Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys, Angel’s Envy. Founded by Bourbon Hall of Fame icon and master distiller Lincoln Henderson, Angel’s Envy is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels, and guest can expect every detail to be ‘finished’ when they join us at the iconic Eau De Vie Sydney venue from the 4th to the 8th of June. Angel’s Envy invites Australian bourbon and whiskey lovers to experience a selection of its signature drams as they enjoy one of the finest dining experiences Sydney has to offer. With only 22 seats available, not only will guests enjoy an exclusive three-course menu of creative dishes carefully crafted by Eau De Vie’s executive chef, but it will also boast dishes designed to be “finished” at the table; a nod to the complex flavours that arise from the finishing of Angel’s Envy bourbon in port wine casks.
Glenfiddich x Jordan Gogos Pop-up Bar

If you can’t wait until May 18th to get in on the whisky excitement, be sure to visit the Glenfiddich x Jordan Gogos Pop-up Bar, hosted at Dean & Nancy on 22 (200 George Street) in the heart of Sydney’s CBD until May 8th. There, you’ll discover a must-see pop-up bar and art installation created via a collaboration between Glenfiddich and Australian multidisciplinary artist Jordan Gogos. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s iconic aged expressions, the installation boasts bespoke art and fabrics, which you can engage with while enjoying delicious Glenfiddich-based cocktails. Plus, by stopping by you’ll be contributing to ecological and humanitarian issues with $10 from each sale going to ART AID charities.
