The Whisky Show returns as the folks over at The Whisky List prepare to take the country by storm with a festival of whisky. They’ll be visiting six Australian capital cities in 2022 to bring whisky lovers some of the best local and international drams available. We were lucky enough to visit The Whisky Show when it returned to Sydney in late 2021 and can say from a first-hand experience, there isn’t a better way to learn, reminisce, or enjoy whisky.
The Whisky Show will be returning on these dates;
- Melbourne: 3 April – ‘The Australian Whisky Show’
- Hobart: 30 April
- Sydney: 20-21 May (traditionally held on World Whisky Day)
- Adelaide: 11 June
- Canberra: 25 June
- Melbourne: 6 Aug
- Brisbane: 8 Oct
Before the festival kicks off, Melbourne will host the inaugural ‘Australian Whisky Show’ in partnership with the Australian Distillers Association where it’ll showcase over 100 different whiskies and spirits, all produced by distilleries from across Australia (30 confirmed). Fans will have four hours (12-4) to peruse around the Pullman Hotel, Albert Park, Melbourne on Sunday 3rd April, 2022.
“This will be the first time so many 20 Best Tasmanian Whisky Distilleries and the distillers themselves will be together for such an event. It is the largest gathering dedicated entirely to locally produced whiskies. It’s a fun way to explore Aussie whisky and meet the makers, who all love having a chat about their adventures and challenges, the highs and the lows, of getting their whisky to you. Plus a few distillers are bringing a bottle of something really special to try only at the show,” said David Ligoff, founder of The Whisky Show.
Confirmed distilleries include;
- Archie Rose Distillery
- Bakery Hill Distillery
- Gospel Distillery
- Hobart Whisky
- Iniquity Whisky
- Manly Distillery
- Overeem Whisky
- Remnant
- Spring Bay Distillery
- Starward Distillery
Tickets for all state-based Whisky Shows cost $109, and include entry to each show, a Whisky Show branded tasting glass to keep (these come in very handy), snack pack, gift bag and access to try all the whiskies available to pour at each stand. Brands from Scotland, the USA, Australia and the rest of the world will be on pour at each Whisky Show. We highly encourage using the Whisky Show app which features an online ordering click & collect feature for the event, and even a section to record your own tasting notes.
