To say Gordon Ramsay is passionate about his food would be an understatement, let’s not forget what happened when that poor soul lost track of the lamb sauce. However, beyond his TV antics, Ramsay has laid claim to one of the finest restaurants in the world. And now, he’s bringing the taste, fire and tenderness he’s known for to Australia as Restaurant Gordon Ramsay touches down under.
Earning a total of 17 Michelin Stars throughout his career, he’s making his way to Sydney’s renowned Aria Restaurant this May for a three-night residency, something that’s never been done. Here’s how you can secure a seat at the table.
Restaurant Gordon Ramsay at ARIA Sydney
Where: Aria Sydney
When: 8th, 9th and 10th of May, 2023.
Price: $495 per person (sold out) + optional premium wine pairing for $295.
And now, the wait is over. Born from the unique friendship of two stellar chefs, Gordon Ramsay and Matt Moran, the residency will shine a light on the professional relationship between these two long-time chefs with none other than Matt Abé, chef patron at London’s three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.
“What an absolute honour to have Restaurant Gordon Ramsay do their first residency outside London at Aria,” said Matt Moran. Gordon is one of my closest mates, and Abé spent five years cooking with me in the Aria kitchen before moving to London where he has cemented his place as one of the world’s finest chefs. These three nights will be a real highlight in the 23 years of Aria; I can’t wait.”
The one-of-a-kind dining experience will take place over three indulgent nights with an unforgettable menu that showcases Australian seasonal produce with the mastermind of Abé alongside, and of course, the help of the award-winning Aria team.
What’s on the menu? Seven courses of innovative British-inspired dishes that ingeniously replace British produce with ingredients from some of Australia’s leading producers. Choose from the likes of a delectable shellfish raviolo and for dessert, a decadent pecan praline.
Of the collaboration, Gordon Ramsay said: “Collaborating with my dear friend Matt Moran, and talented chef patron, Matt Abé at Aria, with its magnificent views across Sydney Harbour, and creating a menu that utilises Australia’s incredible local produce whilst delivering the finesse of our 3-star Michelin menu, is a dream come true.”
Wine lovers, do not fret — you can expect Aria’s award-winning wine program across the three nights, as well as a premium wine pairing.
Abe also added: “I’m so excited to be heading back to the restaurant where my love for fine dining began. It means so much to be coming home as the first and only 3-star Australian chef, to showcase what I have learnt over the years of working for Gordon. It really is an honour to be stepping back into the kitchen at Aria, a place where I first met Gordon, and to show my earliest mentor and friend, Matt Moran, the chef I am today.”
Update 14/04/2023: Restaurant Gordon Ramsay comes to Aria on the 8th, 9th and 10th of May.
