From Byron to Burraneer Bay, the Hemsworth’s could be on the move. After completing their mega-mansion in Broken Head earlier this year, reports have surfaced they are interested in purchasing a stunning Sydney property worth upwards of AUD$50 million. Named Nautilus, the Sutherland Shire property has to be seen to be believed, and if the rumours are true, both Chris and wife Elsa Pataky have visited the estate numerous times.
NOVAFM’s Sarah McGilvary broke the story, stating Hemsworth has repeatedly swung by the waterfront palace to check it out. “Chris Hemsworth, this is awesome … he’s been house hunting, and I’ve had a tip-off from someone,” McGilvary said on the show on Friday. “I have it on good authority that he’s been there, two to three times.”
Spanning across 6 levels with 3 internal lifts, the house features 7 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms (not an error), and two guest pavilions. Miraculously squeezed in between all the toilets lives a commercial-grade bar, dual full-size championship bowling alleys, premium gymnasium with dedicated Yoga and Pilates areas and a 2000-bottle cellar.
Located just 5 minutes outside the heart of Cronulla, Highland Property Group describes the residence as “subtly nestled into its sloping site to offer a seamless connection to its natural surrounds.” And seamless it is, the bayside beauty offers access to a private beach and private wharfing capable of harbouring a 78ft vessel with ease.
A definitive price guide is yet to be released by David Highland of Highland Property Group, but he did tell Domain the house is worth more than AUD$50 million in replacement costs alone. The now 4500sq/m site cost AUD$8 million to consolidate all three blocks, and the four-year build figure lay somewhere around the AUD$30 million mark. Must be nice, Thor.
