IKEA’s Sleepover Event is More than a Fun Gimmick

You may have noticed that last weekend IKEA stores across the country hosted a series of sleep-related events and workshops with the aim of inspiring Australians to consider the importance of a good night’s sleep. Well, to top it all off, IKEA also offered shoppers the opportunity to win an in-store sleepover experience.

While the sleepover was open to a select group of lucky fans, ultimately, IKEA wants to inspire all Aussies to create their own healthy sleep environments at home, helping them feel refreshed and recharged to get ready for life. Notice I said, “was open?” The competition has already closed. Yeah, that’s my bad.

“At IKEA, our research has shown that Australians are still struggling to get a good night’s sleep, so we’re excited to be able to share inspiring and informed solutions for the bedroom,” said Mark Mitchinson, IKEA Australia.

The winners of the IKEA sleepover will experience:

A perfectly curated sleep zone including a comfy mattress, their choice of linen, the perfect pillow and sensory elements all personalised to their unique sleep needs.

Before sleep there will be a menu of activities to entertain, soothe and relax. These include a pre-sleep massage, relaxation techniques, movie time, bedtime snacks and guidance from a sleep expert.

A delicious dinner will be served before an IKEA breakfast in bed. Meals may or may not contain the trademark IKEA meatballs.

So it’s too late to win the sleepover in an IKEA store. Still, you can head down to any one of Australian locations and experience 30 new bedroom styles plus an abundance of bedroom furniture that could help you get better night’s sleep. And if you encounter a family enjoying breakfast in bed, be sure to congratulate them on the win.
