Inside the $15 Million Apartments Aboard the World’s Largest Superyacht


While the super-rich usually enjoy the ocean on private vessels, you can’t blame them for wanting to indulge in the commoner custom of a cruise. However, don’t expect to see any big players during your next holiday on the sea because Somnio recently revealed sketchings for the worlds first “yacht liner”. Offering ultimate exclusivity, potential buyer’s must be first selected and invited before purchasing a property on the luxurious ship.

Costing a staggering AU$830 million, the 221.89 metre-long Superyacht is destined to become the world’s largest yacht ever created. The ship will boast 39 apartments spread across six decks, with the cheapest option starting at AU$15 million. The apartments will range from 182sqm of total space, while the largest will be 963sqm, with a third of that taken up by an outdoor terrace. Furthermore, the biggest apartment is believed to occupy the entire upper deck. According to Insider, some of these apartments have already been bought without the owners even viewing them.

The lucky owners will work alongside several designers to decide on interior arrangements, including materials, furniture, lighting and artwork. The design teams will also help acquire knickknacks such as bedding, cutlery and towels.

Some pads will come fully loaded with a kitchen, gym library as well as indoor and outdoor dining areas. Additionally, owners will have access to a shared wine cellar with 10,000 bottles, plus a number of restaurants, bars and a beach club with watersports.

Somnio stated that their superyacht will travel worldwide with owners able to visit places like the Mediterranean, New York, the South Pacific and even explore Antarctica. Residents will be able to come and go as they please, with the company saying, “It is their home.”

The Somnio Superyacht is scheduled to launch in 2024.
