  • Rolls-Royce’s most powerful, daring, and performance-driven vehicle yet.
  • Infinity Mode unlocks 485 kW (659 hp) for electrifying power.
  • Vapour Violet paint and illuminated grille embody bold, rebellious luxury aesthetics.
  • Engineered using client data, Black Badge Spectre delivers visceral, tailored performance.
  • Secret pre-launch fleet ensured Spectre met elite expectations seamlessly.

Developed with clients through a small, highly exclusive fleet of clandestine vehicles, Rolls-Royce has taken their flagship Spectre electric vehicle and turned it up with the famous ‘Black Badge’ treatment. The result is a new Black Badge Spectre that is the most powerful and quickest Rolls-Royce in history with 485 kW (659 hp) of power, 1075 Nm of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of just 4.1 seconds.

Quite frankly, these numbers are just silly for a car of this size and weight. However, the brand has balanced this by carefully considering its client’s needs and desires. Similar to ‘Low’ mode in the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, you can now choose an Infinity Mode to unlock the full 485 kW (659 hp) of power and even a Spirited Mode which is a fancy way of saying “Launch control.”

Brands like Porsche are pivoting away from EVs, but it’s clear electric cars at the world’s most luxurious car brand are here to stay. Now, let’s check out the Black Badge Spectre in detail!

It’s the Most Powerful Rolls-Royce Ever Made

  • Delivers an unprecedented 485 kW (659 hp) and 1075 Nm of torque.
  • Engineered for high-performance bursts after analysing clients’ driving habits.
  • New Infinity Mode enhances throttle response, amplifying power on demand.
  • Spirited Mode enables rapid acceleration, launching Spectre from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

Simply put, the Rolls-Royce Blade Badge Spectre is the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever created. It produces 485 kW (659 hp) and 1075 Nm of torque from dual electric motors powered by a 102 kWh battery pack with 493-530 km of range.

The Spectre Black Badge produces 44 kW more power than the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II Black Badge’s 441 kW 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine.

It’s also quicker than any Rolls-Royce before it, and while the standard Spectre is pretty quick, the Black Badge Spectre can complete the 0-60mp/h sprint in 4.1 seconds (-0.3 seconds) using the new “Spirited Mode” which is something car guys normally refer to as “Launch control.”

Like other cars on the road you access it by holding your foot on the brake then wait for a haptic and visual response telling you the car is ready to launch and then you release the brake.

More Than Just Power, Things Have Changed Under the Skin Too

  • Revised suspension reduces body roll and enhances driver connection.
  • Enhanced stability keeps Spectre poised even under aggressive acceleration.
  • Winter tyres are now available, catering to Black Badge clients worldwide.

The dynamic capabilities of the Spectre have surprised many of the brand’s clients, including an owner in Gstaad, Switzerland, “who was so compelled by agility on the mountain passes of the region that they ordered a second motor car for use on the Corniche roads of the French Riviera, close to another of their properties in Monaco.”

This owner and all those who drive their Spectre like a Subaru BRZ will be happy to know that the Black Badge Spectre takes this to another level with key hardware and software changes to the steering and suspension system.

The steering weight is increased and the roll stabilisation is adjusted to better handle bends. Meanwhile, the dampers have been “enhanced” to better deal with squat under acceleration and deceleration. Of course, the staple “Magic carpet” ride hasn’t been compromised.

There’s a Bold Look, But Clients Can Take This Further

  • Vapour Violet paint evokes the neon energy of ‘80s and ‘90s club culture.
  • Illuminated Pantheon Grille introduces a new vibrant colour-matched backplate.
  • Blackened brightwork, Spirit of Ecstasy, and double ‘R’ badge signal its defiant spirit.
  • New 23-inch forged wheels feature an intricate five-spoke design.
  • Clients can commission entirely bespoke paint finishes, making each car a unique expression.

Like all Black Badge models before it, the badges on the Spectre are indeed black. This extends to the Pantheon Grille surround, Spirit of Ecstasy, double ‘R’ Badge, door handles, side window surround and bumper accents.

The Pantheon Grille itself now glows with a new Illuminated Grille backplate offered in Tailored Purple, Charles Blue, Chartreuse and Forge Yellow. This extends to the interior with Illuminated Black Badge Treadplates come with 10 colour options to strike the perfect balance.

You can now commission your Black Badge Spectre in a new Vapour Violet colour. However, we’d prefer to develop a Bespoke colour with their team of designers and pair it with the new Iced Black painted bonnet and new ‘waft’ coachline along the lower third of the vehicle.

Finally, the 23-inch wheels remain and are now available in a bold new 23-inch five-spoke forged aluminium wheel design in a part-polished or all-black finish.

Cabin Brings More Illuminated Elements

  • The bespoke SPIRIT system integrates digital luxury with exclusive Rolls-Royce concierge services.
  • The dashboard’s 5,500-star pattern incorporates the Infinity symbol/
  • New Technical Fibre weave adds depth and three-dimensional texture to interior trims.
  • Clients can choose from five striking instrument dial colour themes.

The theme of illumination continues on the inside with the Illuminated Black Badge Treadplates in 10 colour options before you lay eyes on the Illuminated Fascia which now incorporates the Infinity symbol used across the wider Black Badge family. If the idea of a star headliner is now a bit simple these days, the fascia features over 5,500 ‘stars’ of varying proportions and intensity set in a Piano Black ‘sky’.

No less than five Black Badge Spectre colour themes can be chosen for the digital instrument cluster, including Vivid Grellow, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire, Ultraviolet and Synth Wave.

What Does the Black Badge Spectre Cost?

No price has been shared for the Australian market at the time of publishing. However, the standard Spectre costs from AUD$$770,000 before on-road costs, but many clients will spend significantly more once Bespoke customisation is considered.

While the electric car bubble has certainly burst amongst the masses, the typical shortcomings of an EV don’t affect the wealthy and the brand says that Spectre is often a client’s second Rolls-Royce and forms part of a seven-car garage.

Owners only drive their Spectre 4,000 miles (~6,440km) per year and this means they only have to charge it 20 times every 12 months. Someone once told us that this is the only EV you don’t have to charge because someone will do it for you if it’s too much of a hassle! Sales numbers back this up, and the Spectre is the second “most-requested” Rolls-Royce in 2024 and the best-selling model in Europe.

“Black Badge Spectre is one of the clearest statements of power and purpose we have ever made,” said Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “It has been created in the image of our boldest and most audacious clients, with meticulous attention to detail. From the beginning of Black Badge Spectre’s journey, the clients who requested this extraordinary motor car dared us to share their fearless spirit. In response, our engineers combined data science, qualitative feedback, and their deep knowledge of the brand’s alter ego to craft an intense and uncompromising character, and the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history.”
