This BMW R nineT dubbed “2Shot” was customised by Sydney’s Gasoline Motor Co. for a customer with just as much style as money. It’s inspired by the past, present and future and took hundreds of man hours and almost a year to complete.
The 2Shot includes a host of intentional design features that nurture the owner’s creativeness and size. It began with changing the standard foot pegs and handlebars and installing a tailored seat pan – all positioned and adjusted specifically to accommodate height and stance.
The most distinctive features of the build are the fairing, shark tail section, fender, and tank. All were hand-beaten and rolled out of aircraft grade 6061 aluminum alloy to get the design symmetrical and flowing with the lines of the frame. Each tooling mark, abrasion, and indentation is left visible except for a narrow, smoothed GT stripe running the entire body length of the bike. Layers of specially formulated matte finish clear coat were added to prevent oxidization and give the metal a smooth feel.
Gasoline Motor Co. borrowed technology from BMW’s existing line-up adding modern comforts such as ABS brakes and a six-speed transmission. At the same time, the team chose to omit traction control and adjustable throttle maps which many believe detract from the purist experience.
Due to the precise manufacturing standards of BMW, anodised black was chosen over a traditional paint job or powder coat. Following this blacked out theme, additional componentry was sourced from American motorcycle brand Roland Sands Designs including a signature breastplate unobscured by a relocated oil cooling system, and a couple of their RSD emblazoned valve covers. The rest of the parts were one-of-a-kind fabrications carried out by the crew.
A super bright LED halo headlight is integrated at the centre, plus a set of bar end indicators up front and an all-in-one LED tail light blinker combination at the business end. Opposing twin exhausts and intake with a side-ported muffler create an instantly recognizable primordial rumble that informs all within earshot that this R nineT and its rider are not to be fucked with.
Gasoline’s finishing touches include perforated black leather for the custom alloy seat pan, a fuel cap designed and milled in house. Plus a custom smoke tinted impact resistant perspex windshield and a digital radio-frequency identified keyless ignition.
All-in-all, 2Shot is a one-of-a-kind, meticulously hand-crafted motorcycle that should leave you jealous and re-evaluating financial priorities. You can see all the custom built bikes we’ve featured right here.
