Whether he’s on stage, on the red carpet, or just walking the streets, A$AP Rocky earns his status as a style icon every time. Most recently, A$AP Rocky walked the streets of New York City wearing a dark blazer, a crisp white long-sleeve shirt and two-tone jeans that were paired with steel-toe cowboy boots – aka The Western Tuxe.

While we can neither confirm nor deny any of the following pieces are exactly what Rocky is wearing, it’s fair to say that the Polo Ralph Lauren Soft Stretch Blazer is about as close to the ticket as you’ll find. Don’t you dare call it a sportcoat because this is a modern spin on the classic preppy-style blazer and holds enough Western flair to fit the ticket.

While you might be on the lookout for something with a more aggressive collar when putting together a typical ‘Western’ outfit, Rocky chooses to go with a simple white business shirt for his take on the ‘Western Tuxe. We always fall back on the classic Uniqlo Super Non-Iron Slim Fit Shirt when it comes to plain white shirts. Made from 100% cotton (meaning a comfortable fit) we love this one for its clean, slim fit, but more so for its non-iron nature.

While we expect Rocky to be wearing nothing less than the latest Amiri, Saint Laurent, or Balenciaga denim, you don’t have to spend AUD$2000 on jeans to get his Western Tuxedo outfit. Enter the classic Levi’s 501 Original Jeans. We think the ‘Rinse’ colour is the closest you’ll find to that in the image, however, there are plenty of colours to choose from if you’re looking for a stylish alternative.

Getting into the accessories and the choice of tie left us stumped. After much deliberation and forum digging, we believe the choice here is a Gianni Versace tie (or potentially another Ralph Lauren archive piece). Thankfully, all Gianni Versace ties are easily available through secondary retailers such as Vestaire Collective. They’re mostly made in Italy from 100 per cent silk, and the average measurements fall anywhere up to 9.5cm at its widest point and 148cm in total length.

Another tough one to pick from the Western fit, we landed on the Saint Laurent Leather Belt found here after much deliberation. Alternative pieces can be found at Chrome Hearts, but we think Rocky is past that for now. This one is crafted in Italy from black leather, with silver-tone grommets that add a tough Western style. The belt also features a coordinating silver-tone buckle with a burnished finish – priced at around AUD$679.

After almost an hour of digging through the fashion blogs, we landed on the DIOR Evidence Ankle Boots as the closest one we could find to that pictured in A$AP Rocky’s Western Tuxe outfit. While it’s not the same as the one in the picture, it’s about as close as you can find, with smooth black calfskin interlaced leather that’s crafted in Italy.
