  • Motorola’s latest special-edition Razr is finished in PANTONE Meteorite with 35 hand-positioned Swarovski Crystals.
  • A larger 32-facet Swarovski Crystal sits on the hinge, while the phone keeps the familiar 3.6-inch outer and 6.9-inch folding displays.
  • Australian pricing and availability have not yet been confirmed.

How does Motorola make the Razr stand out when Samsung keeps refining its foldables, Google is already deep into the category, and Apple is expected to eventually join the party?

Apparently, you cover the whole thing in Swarovski crystals.

The latest Motorola Razr with Crystals by Swarovski arrives in a dark PANTONE Meteorite finish with 35 hand-positioned Silver Night crystals across its quilted, leather-inspired exterior. Motorola also added a much larger 32-facet Swarovski Crystal directly into the hinge, just in case the other 35 weren’t getting the message.

If Any Phone Can Get Away With Swarovski, It’s Probably the Razr

This isn’t Motorola’s first Swarovski-covered phone. The company has already used the treatment across its Brilliant Collection, including last year’s Razr 60, which also featured 35 hand-positioned crystals and a larger stone built into the hinge.

The new version takes that same bedazzled idea and shifts it into much darker territory. Meteorite replaces the pale Ice Melt finish, the crystals switch to Silver Night, and the hinge stone grows from 26 facets to 32.

Growing up, the Razr was always the fancy phone you could actually imagine owning, even if you were carrying something cheaper in your own pocket. Whether 35 Swarovski crystals and a giant stone on the hinge are enough to get someone across the line is another question, but you’ve got to admire the commitment to glamour.

It’s Still Just a Razr Underneath

Beneath all the razzle-dazzle, it’s still your standard Motorola Razr.

You’re getting a 3.6-inch external display, a 6.9-inch folding AMOLED display, dual 50MP cameras and a 4,800mAh battery, with Motorola claiming more than 36 hours of battery life. It’s come a long way since Motorola revived the Razr as a foldable back in 2019.

None of the Swarovski work changes what the phone can actually do. It just gives Motorola another way to make the Razr impossible to miss. Motorola doesn’t necessarily need to outdo whatever Samsung, Google (or eventually Apple) bring to the foldable fight. Sometimes, all it takes is a detour to the Swarovski store. While I’ll be sticking with my current smartphone, if someone else is window shopping for something a little flashier, Motorola certainly knows how to catch their eye.
