Watches and Wonders 2025 is underway and it’s delivering no shortage of exemplary timepieces from some of the world’s best brands, including A. Lange & Söhne. The German luxury watchmaker continues to rock our world one year after the next and this year is no exception. They’ve presented three stunning new releases at the event, each one a masterpiece of aesthetics and mechanics alike. Here’s a closer look at the new Minute Repeater Perpetual, 1815, and Odysseus Honeygold.

A. Lange & Söhne Minute Repeater Perpetual

A. Lange & Söhne gives competitors like Patek Philippe a run for their money with the introduction of the Minute Repeater Perpetual. Bringing the piece to life required the development of a new manually wound movement, which combines a minute repeater complication with a perpetual calendar. Available in a 950 platinum edition and limited to just 50 units, the watch is distinguished by both its striking appearance and the reverberant timbre of its hand-tuned gongs.

Indeed, the sharp acoustics of Lange’s Minute Repeater Perpetual make it an instant master of its rarefied domain. Under its skin of pure platinum, various components harmonise to a meticulous effect, rendering a chime that’s ultra-precise and clear as a bell. The bold dial face and its array of apertures, subdials, complications, and details—including two solid gold moons—drive home the model’s unique prowess and sophistication. We wantey!

A. Lange & Söhne 1815

A. Lange & Söhne continues to honour the birth of founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange with the legendary 1815 series. This latest iteration comes on the heels of award-winning predecessors and measures 34 millimetres in diameter, with a slim case height of just 6.4 millimetres. Similarly discreet is the three-hand dial face, fashioned in the mould of early pocket watches.

Presented in either white gold or pink gold (with each version being limited to 750 units), the new 1815 squeezes copious artistry into a compact and minimalist framework. It runs on Lange’s own manufacture calibre L152.1, their 75th calibre to date since re-establishment. Behold the in-house movement and its new oscillation system through a sapphire crystal window on the transparent caseback, and accept no substitutes.

You may recognise Odysseus as the Greek hero who journeyed across a hostile sea in the epic poem Odyssey (shout out to Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film adaptation). Rest assured that A. Lange & Söhne don’t take the name in vain when ascribing it to this robust timepiece, which is accordingly constructed to endure all kinds of activity. Built for adventure perhaps, but its gold-and-brass colourway delivers an elegant visual impression.

With the latest version of Odysseus, Lange presents their classic model on a 750 honey-gold bracelet for the first time. The lightweight case of matching honey-gold combines with a spacious display—flanked by a narrow bezel—to impart a brawny essence. Peer close to scope polished surfaces and finer details before flipping the watch over for yet another feat of artistry, i.e. the twice-assembled and artisanally-finished movement that’s visible through the caseback window. This model is limited to just 100 pieces, each one with a signature engraving.
