Revolutioninsig space travel and on-road vehicles, Elon Musk, is usually busy making toys for adults. However, the father of seven is now giving back to the kids, with Tesla releasing a mini Cyberquad for USD$1,900 (AU$2,700). Launched two years after the automaker announced the full-size Cyberquad ATV to accompany its highly anticipated Cybertruck, the child-friendly version is destined to be a hit this holiday season. Merry Christmas, parents.

Designed for kids eight years and older, the Cyberquad is powered by a lithium-ion battery and runs on electricity like the bigger version. The physical makeup of the bike is composed of a steel frame, adjustable suspension, a cushioned seat and LED lights. The mini-vehicle is equipped with a 15-mile (24 kilometres) range and a top speed of 10 mph (16 kmh), which hopefully minimises the risk of your little one throwing a tantrum and jumping onto his steel horse to run away from home.

Making it accessible to all skill levels, the ATV possesses three-speed modes: 5 mph, 10 mph and 5 mph in reverse. Depending on the rider’s weight, the terrain and speed setting, Tesla says charging will take up to 5 hours to complete.

According to the company’s website, the pint-sized Cyberquad is scheduled to start shipping in the next two to four weeks. Unfortunately, Aussies may have to wait a little longer, with the Cyberquad currently only available on Tesla’s US website and will only ship nationally.
