It’s the end of the week, and you know what that means: another instalment of Man of Many’s Feel-Good Friday! Every week we look to bring some fun ideas for things you can do this weekend, as well as some easy opportunities for you to get enjoy cool, and preferably free, stuff.
This week, though, we’re highlighting a bunch of great ways you can give back while also doing something good for you: from winning an all-expenses paid trip to New York Fashion Week while donating to charity, to doing sprints to stand up to gendered violence, and committing to fight Crohn’s disease by walking big in September.
Also: puppy yoga, because we all need nice things from time to time. Here’s this week’s Feel-Good Friday.

Work out Mind, Body, and Soul with Puppy Yoga
We’re big fans of finding ways to manage your physical and mental health, preferably at the same time. Exercise is pretty much the gold standard for that, but can you imagine what it’d be like to exercise with a puppy?
If you head to Yoga Studio Bondi Junction, Sydney, this weekend you won’t have to imagine. Coconut water brand Sip Coco is partnering with Yoga Paws to deliver all the downward facing dog you can handle in an hour-long session balancing some genuine yoga with puppy playtime.
Not in Sydney? Don’t fret! The pairing are heading to Eastside Yoga & Pilates in Adelaide on 31 August, and Inspiration Space in Perth on 7 September.

Do Sprints to Stand Against Violence
This Saturday, 23 August, Victorians can head to a number of Body Fit Training gyms to take part in a 6-hour sprinting event. You’ll pay for the pleasure, and sweat it out to see which studio can cover the most ground for the duration.
Why? BFT has partnered with The Polished Man, a national movement aimed at ending violence against women and children, and all money raised for the day goes toward the initiative. Thankfully you don’t need to spend the entire 6-hour stint running, but every metre gained gets your club closer to victory.
Participants are encouraged to sign up to the movement and paint a single nail as both a sign of solidarity and a conversation starter.
Participating studios include:
- BFT Hawthorn
- BFT Docklands
- BFT Wangaratta
- BFT Collingwood
- BFT Preston
- BFT Traralgon
- BFT Altona North
- BFT Hoppers Crossing

Live Fearless Challenge to take on Crohn’s
This September, Crohn’s & Colitis Australia are kicking off its annual ‘Live Fearless’ challenge: a month-long physical challenge asking fundraisers to commit to 150km of activity across September in an effort to raise awareness, and raise funds. That’s about 5km a day.
The goal, according to CCA, is to improve the lives of the more than 180,000 Australians live with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis—both of which currently have no cure.
If you’re keen on getting out there and spreading the word, or just want a good excuse to get back out there and pound the pavement, this is a good way to go it: every dollar raised helps fund vital research, and makes other Aussies’ lives better.
