Rockstar just dropped the new trailer for its highly anticipated sequel Red Dead Redemption 2 which launches globally October 26, 2018, for PS4 and Xbox One. This trailer offers the best look at the game’s story.
“America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.”
We get another look at Arthur Morgan, the game’s protagonist, as well as the Van der Linde gang and the return of the original Red Dead Redemption protagonist John Marston.
Unfortunately we still don’t know much about gameplay. I think it’s safe to say that you can expect a sprawling open-world frontier brimming with life. A cinematic story full of bloodshed and a comprehensive multiplayer mode that’s likely to keep its player base for years to come. There’s even talk of a battle royale mode like Fortnite and PUBG.
It’s been 8 years since Red Dead Redemption launched. In that time, Rockstar released the ridiculously successful Grand Theft Auto 5 which has shipped over 90 million copies and become the highest grossing media product of all time.
The new trailer is embedded at the top of this article. Get your pre-orders in and mark October 26 on your calendar.
