Get Outdoors with Levi’s Spring/Summer 2022 Gold Tab Collection
Californian fashion label Levi’s is known for many things, most notably for epitomising classic American style and effortless cool, but after 169 years of dishing out denim, the brand is changing things up. Its latest collection expands on its West Coast identity. Where the brand regularly takes inspiration from the mountains, forests, valleys, and lakes that are found in that region, the new Levi’s Gold Tab range has a decidedly more urban feel. For the first time ever, Levi’s is getting into athleisure wear.

Launching this Spring/Summer of 2022, Levi’s Gold Tab is a vintage-inspired collection with a Northern California twist. Arriving at the cross-section of nostalgia and comfort, the range blends ‘70s and ‘80s vibes in a way that still feels modern. According to Karyn Hillman, chief product officer, Levi Strauss & Co, the collection is grounded in wear-anywhere casual essentials that elevate any style, giving Gold Tab a relaxed, cool approach to vintage-inspired, comfort-based clothes.
“We took inspiration for Levi’s Gold Tab from a West Coast sensibility, loving that outdoorsy, active lifestyle,” Hillman said. “It’s rooted in casual comfort and blends authentic Levi’s DNA with a nostalgic ‘70s and ‘80s look and feel. It’s nature, meets sports, meets laid-back comfort and ease.”

The collection features basics like sweats, hoodies, crew necks and tees, as well as sportier elements like tank tops, joggers, bike shorts and leggings. Light technical elements feature on pieces such as the new men’s Levi’s Gold Tab Bolinas Anorak which is available in a yellow colourway with a hood and kangaroo pocket, Levi’s Gold Tab Medieval Blue Pastime Vest with mock neck along with a mesh short and top. There’s also a forest green collegiate jacket for women with a striped elastic collar, cuffs and hem. The collegiate jacket also features Northern California-inspired graphics on the back.
The colour palette for this new collection mixes earth tones and primary colours in a very throwback way. Further adding to the nostalgia of this collection is a range of Northern California-inspired graphics. As well as a range of graphics that depict some of California’s most iconic nature-filled destinations that are featured on sweatshirts, hoodies, and tees.
Levi’s Gold Tab also introduces a woven overshirt in both solids and plaids. It’s perfect for layering over a T-shirt or hoodie.
