Travis Scott hasn’t been able to help himself lately, jumping on the seasonal trends he usually avoids with comparatively weak ‘fits’ that have sparked the conversation for hypebeasts. Most notably it was his recent Instagram post that moved the needle for fans when Trav posed next to a bonsai tree rocking the infamous Converse x Comme Des Garcon Play sneakers. Thankfully, the negative fit-feedback hasn’t deterred him from rocking a solid technical piece, defining one of this year’s most popular style trends.
Travis Scott Arc’tyrex Outfit
Arc’tyrex had a HUGE 2020 as the brand successfully bridged the gap between full-blown exploration and street style. The brand found success as the main purveyor of the Gorpcore aesthetic, which casually became one of the year’s biggest style trends. Derived from the term ‘Good Ol’ Raisins and Peanuts‘ (Trail Mix) the style sees urban explorers rock outdoor utilitarian gear in casual settings. Best showcased here by Travis Scott, who appears to be on a snow holiday.
When it comes to Gorpcore, the more GORE-TEX the better, and Flame is seen wearing head to toe Gore by way of the (famous at this point) Arc’tyrex Beta AR Shell Jacket. This piece features GORE-TEX PRO – a next-gen material Arc’ developed in collaboration with Gore to deliver maximum durability. Trav makes sure he’ll stay extra toasty during his slalom adventures with a pair of Sabre LT pants that feature 80p GORE-TEX with a C-KNIT backer, which translates to a waterproof, breathable and supple piece that’s soft to the touch. It’s safe to say he’s ticked all the gorpcore boxes.
Best of all, there’s an integrated Slide’n Loc attachment link in the Sabre LT’s that joins the jacket and trousers to create a unified clothing system that moves with the body and helps seal out snow. We can’t think of a more versatile fit to explore the mountains and simultaneously flex in the chalet.
