“This winter’s collection concentrates on distinctive silhouettes, sensual textures and luxurious tailoring which respond to our new sense of comfort: Sophistication for everyone,” Sander said. “We return to social life, but we want to feel protected. The collection explores new oversize silhouettes with a controlled fit and variations of substantial winter classics.”

It’s no wonder UNIQLO has tapped the German designer for this impressive undertaking. Sander has dabbled in all aspects of the fashion world, from beginning her career as a fashion editor to beginning her own label, JIL SANDER in 1968. Though she no longer crafts designs under her label, Sander’s influence has continued to emanate over the years. Her first venture with UNIQLO was back in 2009, where she launched the concept “Open The Future” with the intention of finding new possibilities in clothing. Now making a highly anticipated return, the new +J Autumn/Winter Collection debuts this month.

Diving into the garments, it’s clear items were crafted with intention. In this particular chapter of +J, the designer continues to develop a level of quiet distinction and refinement. Next-level tailoring is unmatched with the materials used in the designs. Infusing new ways of functionality, Sanders brings a new era of modernity to UNIQLO.

Strength and sensibility are some of the characteristics used to describe this progressive collection. Generous volumes are seen in cowl neck coats and muted puffers. Elongated silhouettes and alluring proportions shape a new global modern uniform. As we begin to emerge back into the rhythm of daily life, +J was crafted for those confident style moments on the move.

Moreover, +J finds strength in its versatility. Striking ranges of white and red are accompanied by a subtle palette of black, navy, graphite, khaki, and caramel. Expressing a great range in hues, these pieces are crafted with multiple looks in mind. We also can’t overlook the excellent fabrics used to craft the items – polyester satin, cashmere, extra fine merino, and the incorporation of habutai silk. We know as soon as we get these pieces fitted that the collection is wrapped in comfort and elegance.

The UNIQLO Australia +J Collection will be available at UNIQLO Emporium, Mid City, Chadstone stores and online. Selected items will be available at all other UNIQLO stores.
