With 2021 coming to a close, we’re looking back at our favourite Longines watches of the year. The famous Swiss brand possesses over 190 years of watchmaking history, and we’ve managed to narrow it down to six timeless expressions that you could call our favourites.
These watches transcend boundaries of function, gender, style and performance to become pieces you won’t want to remove whether you’re 10,000 metres above sea level or 300 metres below its surface. Longines Master Collection (Women’s)

However, our tight-knit team consists of both genders, and we’re committed to diversity in our coverage. The same can be said for Longines, who extends the Master Collection with timepieces designed for discerning women.
The women’s Master Collection carries many of the same elegant traits as the male expressions, with a slimmer build, vibrant colours and regal materials. Take the timepiece featured above. The white mother of pearl face is elevated by the use of diamond indexes and polished silvered hands. The caseback remains transparent for idolising the movement within. But arguably, the eye-catching red alligator strap is what draws the attention of envious onlookers.

Longines DolceVita
Dolce Vita is a popular Italian expression that means “sweet life,” and you’re surely on your way to achieving this goal if sporting a timeless expression like the Longines watch above. Thanks to its softened lines and refined shape, the Longines DolceVita represents the simple, elegant Italian way of life.
Painted Roman numerals are present on a flinqué dial. Functions include hours, minutes, and seconds read via steel hands. There’s also a square date display at 6 o’clock, so there’s no need to whip out the smartphone when double-checking details. The Longines DolceVita is a far cry from the robust timepieces featured above, and yet, this new variation impresses on multiple fronts. It’s both charming and representative of the ‘sweeter things’ in life.
