OMEGA has got this marketing thing all figured out. The iconic Swiss watch brand’s genius strategy of slapping new pieces on outgoing James Bond actor Daniel Craig and wheeling him out to press junkets is proving to be a masterstroke in building consumer interest. Nowadays, whenever we see the 56-year-old British actor out on the town, we can’t help but peek down at his wrist, and for good reason.
The former 007 star set the internet ablaze in November 2023 when he was spotted with a then-unreleased white dial Speedmaster, a model that would hit boutiques until four months later. He followed it up last year by sporting a steel Seamaster with a black wave dial at the Olympics, again, weeks before its introduction. Now, the enigmatic timepiece that fans eyed on his wrist at the 15th Annual Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s Governors Awards in November 2024 has officially been unveiled, and it’s a showstopper. Meet the new OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Bronze Gold and Burgundy, a warming and inviting watch fit for the ultimate gentleman spy, himself.

OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Bronze Gold and Burgundy
For the new Seamaster Diver 300M Bronze Gold and Burgundy, OMEGA has kept the internal formula relatively unchanged, but there are some stark differences from visual perspective. This is most notable in the warming hue of the case material, which OMEGA describes as a ‘one-of-a-kind alloy’, comprising 37.5 per cent gold which has been hallmarked as 9K, alongside palladium and silver.
According to the brand, this soft pink-like colour sits directly in between OMEGA’s 18K Moonshine gold and the 18K Sedna gold hues, but the unique blend of alloys is not simply for aesthetic purposes. In addition to producing an instantly recognisable colour, it also offers tremendous corrosion resistance properties, aging slowly to retain a natural patina.

Two new iterations of the watch have been unveiled, one on a rubber strap and the other on a full bronze gold bracelet. Both measure 42mm in diameter, in keeping with the traditional design language of the much-loved Diver 300M collection, and have been mounted with a stunning burgundy-coloured bezel ring.
With Craig serving as the ultimate pre-release marketing tool, its no surprise that the new Bronze Gold and Burgundy timepiece bears some similarities to 007’s watch of choice. According to OMEGA, the latest Diver 300m is inspired by the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, which was launched in 2020 for Craig’s final entry in the iconic franchise, No Time to Die. Both timepieces features similar ergonimcs and construction elements, from the mesh bracelet and domed sapphire crystal to the oxalic anodised aluminium bezel ring and dial.
In saying that, OMEGA has made a slightly unexpected decision to move away from the classic wave-pattern dial. Instead, the new releases feature a matte black aesthetic, crafted using sandblasted aluminium enhanced by PVD 18K Bronze Gold hands and blackened indexes. Further to this, the Swiss watchmaker has filled the indexes with vintage Super-LumiNova, while the other markings, including the OMEGA logo and name, are transferred in light brown.

The timepiece is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 movement, which is visible through the caseback’s sapphire crystal. A classic addition and mainstay for the Diver 300M collection, the self-winding movement is guaranteed by the Master Chronometer certification, with tests certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). The movement boast 55 hours of power reserve and silicon balance spring construction, with the entire mechanism finished with rhodium-plated rotor and bridges with Geneva waves in arabesque.
The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Bronze Gold and Burgundy is available to purchases at boutiques and online, with pricing varying depending on your choice of bracelet. The new timepiece is priced at AUD$23,100 on a rubber strap and AUD$46,375 on bronze gold bracelet.
