It’s no secret Suntory’s -196 Double Lemon has been going down a treat Down Under. Following its phenomenal launch into the Australian market last year, the mad scientists behind the popular pre-mixed drink have just announced a new flavour is joining the line-up next month: -196 Double Grape.

-196 Double Grape utilises the same Freeze Crush Infusion Technology™ as its lemon counterpart, taking whole grapes frozen in liquid nitrogen at a temperature of (you guessed it) -196°C, which are then pulverized. This powder is soaked in shochu and vodka – resulting in an extreme, fresh-flavoured grape drink topped with refreshing soda water. For those wondering about the tasting notes, think Hi-Chew gum if you know it. Best of all, this iconic Japanese beverage has 0 grams of sugar and 112 calories per can.
“The launch of -196 Double Lemon was last year’s most successful premix* launch in Australia and we know this new flavour is going to excite both those familiar with the original brand in Japan as well as our new local -196 fans,” Beam Suntory Marketing Director, Trent Chapman said in a statement.
He continued: “Grabbing a pack of -196 Double Grape should feel like you’re reaching straight into the fridge of a convenience store in Tokyo. Unmistakably Japanese, we can’t wait for this next-level refreshment to hit Aussie shelves.”

-196 Double Grape is set to reach the shelves of all major liquor retailers from late-October 2022, selling for a RRP of $23 (four pack) and $49 (10 pack).
While we wait for the new flavour to drop, experience the technology and natural flavours as only Japan can deliver by grabbing the recently restocked -196 Double Lemon from the Liquorland website.
