Here’s your opportunity to show those Germans how Aussies do Oktoberfest better and more creatively. The Oktoberfest Beer Run combines your love of beer with a 5km run, and it’s hitting Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Drinking and running typically don’t go together, but like that’s going to stop you from dressing up in dirndl, lederhosen or whatever other costume is in the wardrobe and having some fun.
The Beer Run will go to five different breweries in each city with locations and running routes to be announced. All participants will receive a novelty medal with their ticket which includes a beer in each brewery and the coveted Beer Run bib. Tickets will set you back AUD$66. The events are held in each city over consecutive weekends beginning early October and finishing early November 2019.
The Oktoberfest Beer Run will involve multiple wave times to manage runner numbers, with each group leaving the first brewery 20 minutes after the scheduled wave start time. The waves will start every half hour, and you can choose your start time when you purchase your tickets.
The run will last for around 2-3 hours depending on how long you want to stop at each brewery, and the event has running leaders to guide each group to each brewery, or you can do it at your own pace.
Last year, tickets to the first Beer Run event in Melbourne sold out in less than a week, so it’s never too early to lock-in those Oktoberfest plans. You can find all the info and purchase tickets via the link below.
