We’re one week out from the start of the Paralympic Games, and honestly we can’t wait to get back on the couch and cheer on from the sidelines as some of Australia’s best athletes show the rest of the world what we’re made of. But, in the meantime, it’s probably a good idea to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine. There’s a bunch of cool stuff going on, so let’s get down to it: Here’s to another Feel-Good Friday!
Cadbury’s Chocbuster Pop-up Delivers The Goods
Following on from the launch of Cadbury’s Choc Tops – everyone’s favourite movie treat – into a bunch of supermarkets around the country, Cadbury and Peters are teaming up at Wynyard Station, Sydney, to give away 8,000 of the delicious treats next week.
On Wednesday and Thursday, 28th and 29th of August, you can stop in at the Chocobuster pop-up to pick up a free ice-cream, alongside some freshly made popcorn, to create the perfect movie experience.
“Australians love a cosy movie night in, and (we) wanted to inspire consumers to recreate the ultimate movie night at home through Chocbuster,” says Senior Brand Manager at Peters Ice Cream, Vanessa Mason.
“We can’t wait to see everyone step back in time at Wynyard Station, enjoying popcorn and Choc Tops while roaming our nostalgic store.”
Get in early, there’s only 8,000 to go around and plenty of hungry people.
Sydney Cat Lovers Unite!
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend (and love cats), you’ll be excited to know that the Cat Lovers Festival is returning to Sydney. The event will see the Sydney Showground covered in cat hair over Saturday and Sunday, 24th and 25th of August, so bring your lint rollers.
You can expect over 200 cats to be roaming the showgrounds, where you can listen to a bunch of talks about how good cats are, and pick up some treats and toys for your feline friends.
“The Cat Lovers Festival captures everything that’s so wonderful about cats and we are thrilled to be returning to Sydney after a sell-out debut last year. Celebrating an A-Z of breeds and all the ways these charismatic creatures enrich our lives, the 2024 attractions provide the purr-fect blend of fun, education and entertainment to delight Sydney’s passionate cat community,” said the festival’s founder, Jason Humphris.

Find Your Father’s Day Feast
If you’re getting ready to celebrate your dad’s big day (which is on 1 September, if you’ve forgotten), but haven’t figured out what he wants yet: just trust us, he probably wants a delicious lunch. There’s a bunch of amazing offers out there, but we’re a fan of what’s going on at the Crown Sydney.
Both Barangaroo-based restaurants, a’Mare and Woodcut, are putting on special feasts just for Father’s Day, and they honestly look incredible. At a’Mare, you and dad can enjoy a harbourside meal of iconic focaccia, Vitello Tonnato and Cotoletta alla Milanese, as part of a tableside menu. Likewise, Woodcut is offering a Father’s Day favourites menu, which includes N25v caviar, Rangers Valley Wagyu Tomahawk steak, and a range of specially selected wines.
If you want to check the delicious deals for yourself, we’d get in quick.
Tell Your Casio Story for $10,000!
Classic watch brand Casio is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and is hosting a $10,000 giveaway (as well as some other fun prizes) throughout August. To get into the running, Casio is inviting customers to submit their favourite Casio memory to on its website to be judged by a panel of guest judges, which will then open the top 10 up for public voting.
The winner will take home $10,000 as well as a prestigious watch collection, which seems pretty awesome to us. There are a bunch of ways to tell your Casio story, so get on it! Those watches aren’t gonna win themselves!
Hey Gamers, Need a Break?
We love chocolate, and video games, so it’s pretty exciting that KitKat is working with Australian streamers to give away a nice big red gaming chair, or a bunch of KitKats, with the goal of incentivising gamers to take a break. According to a 1000-person survey done on behalf of KitKat, over half of Aussies will game for more than 10 hours without a single break, which is definitely not ideal.
Last weekend, twitch streamer Loserfruit surprised her audience with a QR code that, when scanned, put them in the running to win one of 100 KitKats or to win the KitKat Break Chair by Secret Labs (valued at $919). And while Nestle hasn’t confirmed who the next streamer will be to pop out the QR code, you can follow them on Instagram for hints. #notsponsored
