‘Aussie Spec’: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario Unveiled in Green and Gold

The result of 100 years of research and development, Alfa Romeo has unveiled the Giulia Quadrifoglio “100th Anniversario” a commemorative effort to remind enthusiasts of the racing version of the RL during the XIV edition of the Targa Florio. The good news? It’s as gorgeous as ever.

More than a simple colour change and facelift, the Giulia receives a power bump of 10HP (not a lot, let’s be honest) but goes further with a number of celebratory badges, exclusive characterisation, and loads of technology that includes a new adaptive full-LED matrix headlamp and fully digital instrument cluster embellished with the historic ‘telescope’ design. Let’s take a closer look.

Under the bonnet lies the familiar Ferrari-derived turbo V6 engine, receiving a region-specific power bump from 510HP to 520HP for the special edition (for Europe, the UK and China). Mechanically, the engine is identical with a simple increase in turbo boost to reach the new figure. More importantly, the rear differential is now a mechanical self-locking version that receives a GTA-style tune for better stability, agility, and speed in bends.

To make the most of the glorious Italian V6 (which sounds nothing like anything else in the class) an Akrapovich exhaust system finds its way onto the Giulia. You’ll also notice the gold brake calipers which are exclusive to this special edition and matches the emblem celebrating 100 years of the Quadrifoglio, positioned on the rear mudguard. Visible carbon mirror caps and grille finish the aggressive look.

Keeping in the spirit of the brand’s latest facelifts and model introductions, the Giulia renews its look, most notably, the ‘3+3’ headlights with a new adaptive Full-LED Matrix beam that offer an anti-glare and adaptive driving.

Inside, the biggest change to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario is a completely digital 12.3-inch TFT screen where you can access all of the vehicle’s information and the parameters related to autonomous driving technologies and the new ‘Race’ display with rev counter, speedometer and shift light for manual driving. Also on the inside, black and Alcantara leather sports seats are enhanced by matching golden stitching and an innovative 3D finish in real carbon for the instrument panel, the central tunnel, and the door panels to match the exterior.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario is limited to just 100 examples worldwide, and if the sedan isn’t quite your style, the brand is also releasing a Stelvio with the same trim.
