The 2019 X7 SUV is BMW’s largest SUV ever. The X7 has three rows of seating to make the cabin immense, yet you’ll still find all the trappings that you would expect from a BMW. It’s nine inches longer than the X5, making it 203 inches long. It’s also two inches taller, but stays the same width. Aside from the extra row, the X7 also has more luggage capacity, with 48.6 cubic feet available behind the third row (that’s an extra 12.8 cubic feet compared to the X5). Fold down the second and third rows, and you’ll have a whopping 90.4 cubic feet of cargo space.
The X7 will come with seating for seven, with the second row having the option of captain’s chairs. There are also four zones of climate control, but you can add in a fifth as yet another option. Front and rear heated seats, as well as a heated steering wheel and heated front-seat armrests come in the Cold Weather Package. All models come with a three-panel sunroof. There are plenty of add-ons and options to consider as well.
The base X7 has a 3.0-litre turbo-charged inline six-cylinder engine capable of 335 horsepower. If you want more power, go with the xDrive50i option, which sports a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 (capable of 456 horsepower). An eight-speed automatic transmission is paired to both engines.
With the X7, BMW has subscribed to the mantra of “go big or go home…in luxury.”
