GoPro has been the wingman for plenty of crazy stunts and adventures. The little camera revolutionized how we share our lives, accompanying people as they’ve braved all sorts of crazy antics. But even with the little camera strapped on, sometimes the action is missed because of low light conditions. The new GoPro Light Mod changes all that with a light that illuminates your next adventure.
The GoPro Light Mod is extremely well priced, coming in at just $50. It works specifically with the Hero 8 Black, but is compatible with other cameras as well. The mod is very small, so your equipment won’t feel cumbersome and difficult. Yet, despite it’s size, it offers an impressive 200 Lumens from its 10 LEDs. That light extends to about three feet, so if you’re looking to illuminate something beyond your arm’s reach, you’ll need more lighting. It comes with a silicone cover that can act as a diffuser. Featuring four brightness settings, the light mod provides six hours of illumination off of a single charge (it recharges veia a USB Type-C connection). It’s also waterproof up to 33 feet. The light mod was designed with vloggers in mind. Not only can it be worn on the body, it will also stand on its own.
The light mod is one of three Hero 8 Black modular accessories to be released. The mod stands on its own, or can easily be paired with the Media Mod, which is a wraparound frame that comes with a built-in directional mic. In fact, if you want to attach the light mod directly to the Hero 8, you’ll need to pick up the Media Mod. You can also get a Display Mod, which offers a compact, folding 1.9-inch screen so that you can see what you’re shooting. Media Mod comes with two cold-shoe mounts that allow you to adjust the configuration of the accessories.
