Big may be beautiful, but everybody loves curves, especially when it comes to gaming monitors. Ahead of CES 2024, Acer announced a brand new lineup of gaming displays, including the colossal Predator Z57; a 57-inch, 120Hz curved display with a stunning 7680×2160 pixel resolution and a wide 32:9 aspect ratio. Taking clues from last year’s Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, the new Predator Z57 features a 57-inch curved panel with 1000R curvature and MiniLED backlighting for significantly higher contrast than typical LCD monitors.
Acer claims peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits and highly accurate colours covering 98 per cent of the DCI-P3 gamut, promising stunning visuals and deep blacks. However, unlike the Odyssey Neo G9 with its 240Hz refresh rate, the Predator Z57 caps out at 120Hz and has slightly fewer dimming zones (2,304 vs. 2,392).

The gaming monitor has AMD FreeSync Premium, which helps reduce screen-tearing. It also comes with a decent range of ports, including a 90W USB-C PD port, dual HDMI 2.1 ports, and a single DisplayPort 1.3 port, along with a built-in KVM switch for managing multiple devices. Additionally, it can display video from multiple sources simultaneously using picture-in-picture or a side-by-side split screen mode.
The Predator Z57 has dual down-firing 10W speakers, which should provide enough power and volume for most everyday tasks. The VESA-compliant monitor can be mounted to the wall if desired and has an adjustable stand for tilt, swivel, and height adjustments.
Acer hasn’t revealed the Australian release date or pricing for the Predator Z57, but it’s set to launch in the United States sometime in the second half of 2024 for USD $2,499.99. Besides the massive 57-incher, Acer also released a 34-inch display, the Predator X34 V3. This MiniLED monitor comes with a 21:9 ultrawide QHD, 3,440 x 1,440, resolution and has a 180Hz refresh rate, which the company says can provide seamless gaming experiences with almost no ghosting.
No Australian release date or pricing has been revealed for Predator X34 V3 either, but Acer confirmed at CES that the model is set to go on sale in the United States in the second quarter of the year for USD $900. We can expect to hear more from Acer about both the Predator Z57, Predator X34 V3 and possibly other new innovations during the ongoing CES 2024.
