The location marks the company’s first Angelika Film Centre outside of the U.S. since 1989. The legendary OG location—Angelika Film Center & Café in New York City’s Soho neighbourhood—has been an iconic arthouse staple for decades. NYC’s cultural institution is known for showcasing the best in independent, foreign and specialty films.

In fact, over the last decade, the Angelika in NYC has delivered the highest box office of any North American cinema for fantastic films like Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, I, Tonya starring Margot Robbie, Best Picture winner Moonlight, and many a foreign language film, like Pedro Almodovar’s Pain & Glory, along with docs like Free Solo, which went on to win an Academy Award Winner for Best Documentary.
