If you’re a fan of French electronic legends Daft Punk, you’ll probably be familiar with the feature-length anime film they released in 2003, Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem, to accompany the release of the band’s seminal album, Discovery.

Well, that movie has recently been remastered in 4k resolution, and ahead of its re-release 5555 is going to be playing in cinemas around the world for one night: December 12. We don’t know yet where the film will be showing, or how much tickets will be, but you can sign up here to be updated before the tickets become available on November 13.

One of the most successful and influential album launches of the 2000’s, with absolute bangers like One More Time, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, and Veridis Quo, Discovery has aged like fine wine despite the fact it was launched in 2001.

Still, 5555 added a whole new dimension to the tracklist by pairing Daft Punk’s well crafted songs with the story of an intergalactic band’s kidnap, and subsequent exploitation on Earth by a crooked human. Damn humans, always ruining everything.
