There was USD$21 Million (AUD$33.35 Million) worth of prize money (+USD$1 Million) on the line at this year’s 2025 Masters.

The winner of the golf tournament, Rory McIlroy (277 (−11)), walked away with $4,200,000 (AUD$6,662,439) stuffed into his green jacket, while runner-up Justin Rose (277 (−11)) pocketed a very healthy $2,268,000 for pushing McIlroy into a sudden death playoff round. Meanwhile, third-place finisher Justin Reed walked away with $1,428,000 after finishing the tournament with a score of 279 (−9). However, just like the first-round singles players at the Australian Open who pocketed $132,000 just for turning up, the players who missed the cut at the 2025 Masters still walked home with $52,920 each.

If you’re good enough to make it into the top 30 finishers at the 2025 Masters you’ll walk away with USD$142,800, roughly twice the average Australian salary of $100,016.80. Contemplating a double life as a professional golfer? Well, maybe you will after we break down all of the details of the 2025 Masters prize money below.

How Much Money Do Caddies Get Paid at the 2025 Masters?

There’s plenty of money to be made from being a caddy at the 2025 Masters. Typically, a winning caddie will be paid 10% of the winner’s prize money. So in the case of McIlroy, his caddie Harry Diamond will be paid approximately $420,000 for helping him secure the victory. Winnings typically drop to 7% for the caddies in the top 10 finishers, so here’s how all of those in the top 10 would’ve fared.

  • Rory McIlroy (1st – $4,200,000)
    • Caddie earns $420,000 (10%)
  • Justin Rose (2nd – $2,268,000)
    • Caddie earns $158,760 (7%)
  • Patrick Reed (3rd – $1,428,000)

    • Caddie earns $55,860 (7%)
  • Im Sung-jae (T5 – $798,000)
    • Caddie earns $55,860 (7%)
  • Ludvig Åberg (7th – $703,500)

What Privileges Does the Masters Winner Recieve?

Beyond the prize money, the 2025 Masters winner, Rory McIlroy, will walk away with a three-button, single-breasted jacket in the shade Pantone 342 C dubbed “The Green Jacket.”

His name will be engraved into the Masters Trophy (that looks like the Augusta clubhouse) and he’ll also be handed pieces of memorabilia that include a 3.5-inch gold medallion (with a picture of the clubhouse on it) and a replica of said Augusta trophy in sterling silver.

Privaledge-wise, he’ll become an honourary member of Augusta for life (with guests) where he’ll have his own locker in the Champions Locker Room at the clubhouse. He’ll be able to play the Champions Only driving range at the course during Masters tournaments. While his playing days certainly aren’t over, he’ll also be invited to play the event every year, even after he’s retired.

Like Scottie Schfller, Rory will be granted the opportunity to tee off at Augusta the Sunday before the Masters takes place and he’ll have to host the Champions Dinner next year with a custom menu. We’re keen to see how he tops Scottie’s cheeseburger sliders “served Scottie-style,” his bangin’ firecracker prawns, and his dad’s “Papa Scheff’s” meatball ravioli bites.
