ESPN has Designed All-New ‘Victory Goggles ‘ for NBA Finals Champagne Showers

The post-game champagne shower party is one of the great joys of winning the NBA championship. If you haven’t witnessed the wild scenes before, players are given ridiculously priced bubbly and encouraged to spray it over each other in celebration of winning the title. It’s very similar to the Formula One podium, only a million times rowdier and features some of the most testosterone-heavy specimens on the planet. With corks flying like missiles across the room, the NBA came up with the brilliant idea of providing goggles to the entire team, preventing any chance of a nasty post-season eye injury. And for the first time in history, ESPN has joined forces with the NBA to create this year’s new Victory Goggles in the hope they can cash in on some spectacular product placement.

The freshly designed accessory was conceptualised by Arts & Letters Co. and created by Matador Project. As a prize for the winning finals team, the item arrives in gold-covered, large-framed ski goggles that comprise a gold-accented and mirrored front. The stretch fabric black headband incorporated a diamond-shaped emblem with a centred NBA 75 logo and ESPN’s logo.

“We knew we wanted to take our partnership with the NBA to the next level for the 75th anniversary season, and we felt like developing customised victory goggles would be a great touch,” explained ESPN’s Vice President of Sports Marketing, Emeka Ofodile.

“It represents the final leg of a long journey for everyone from us at ESPN to fans to the players and staff of the winning team, and we’re looking forward to watching whoever wins celebrate in style,” she added.

While the Victory Goggles won’t be available to the public at your local hoop store, it’s look like its only a matter of time before we see Steph Curry rock a pair of the golden snow goggles while hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Prove us wrong, Celtics.
