RELATED: Looking for sneakers? These are the best sneaker stores in Sydney.
1. Incu
An innovative, personable and unique experience is what you get when you shop at Incu. A favourite of ours for years, the much-loved Australian brand focuses on designer labels that you often can’t find anywhere else. INCU first hit our radar for their selection of Comme Des Garcon PLAY, but we ended up walking out the door with everything from Stone Island to Jacquemas and Auralee. Whether Australian or from overseas, the brands rotate regularly to help keep the selections fresh. Our favourite store if you’re still in the process of building out your own personal style, INCU has a great selection of modern menswear, and you’ll find everything you need right here.

A staple of Newtown and Balmain, Maple Store has a curated selection of the best menswear in Sydney if you’re looking for workwear-style pieces. You won’t find suits here, as the store has a focus on brands that are pragmatic, made well, and from labels you won’t find anywhere else. Favourites of ours include orSlow for denim jeans, Pendleton for button-up shirts, and Danner for boots. While other men’s clothing stores in Sydney focus on high fashion or hypebeast brands, Maple Store focuses on quality brands that will last forever.

3. Big Trouble Store
Drawing inspiration from vintage Americana, military and heritage pieces, Big Trouble Store is the place to go if you want hard-to-find pieces from Japan and the USA. While there’s some brand crossover with Maple Store, Big Trouble is our go-to men’s clothing store in Sydney for Nepenthes umbrella brands, such as Needles, South2 West8, and Engineered Garments. However, they also have some of our favourite quality basics from Lady White Co. and Knickerbocker.

4. Above The Clouds
Above the Clouds has been one of our favourite menswear stores in Sydney since they hit our radar back at their old Oxford Street location. Perfectly bridging that gap between the classic styles found at Maple Store and Big Trouble, they put more of a focus on refined skatewear and sneakers. Boasting a line-up of brands, our favourites include ERL, John Elliot, thisisneverthat, C.P. Company, Awake NY, and Noon Goons.

5. Blue Works Men’s Clothing
You can’t call yourself a menswear aficionado if you’ve never made your way down to Darling Square and checked out Blue Works. Stepping inside is like going back in time. If you’re after a more traditional workwear aesthetic in Sydney, this is the store for you. We love Blue Works’ curated selection of Japanese and American workwear, think of brands such as Nigel Cabourn, and you’ll catch our drift. One of the only places in Australia to stock some of these brands, we can’t go past the likes of Iron Heart, Fullcount, Red Wing, and Mister Freedon. Maybe the most surprising thing is the pricing, pieces are very fairly priced when you take exchange rates and importing into account.

Their brands have a strong Japanese influence, with the likes of Momotaro, Red Wing, Loopwheel, Stevenson Overall Company, First Arrow’s, Lewis Leathers, and Samurai to just name a few of our favourites. We like to think of this store as the intersection between Blue Works and Big Trouble Store, it’s a great place to shop if you’re hunting for men’s clothing stores in Sydney CBD.

8. The Standard Store
The Standard Store is a great mix of the best modern menswear, offering brands you’ll struggle to find anywhere else. Scouring the globe for the best in clothes, we love the selection of brands that includes YMC, Universal Works, and Haulier. We think this store is best described as the intersection between Maple Store and INCU, but above all, these folks know how to find a brand before it hits the mainstream.

As far as designer menswear stores in Sydney go, Harrolds has the biggest range to choose from. The store has no shortage of options and is home to over 100 local and international designer labels. While their pricing can be a little hit and miss, with some pieces sitting at a 10-20% markup over retail pricing, it’s hard to argue with the selection. Look out for brands such as Tom Ford, Thom Browne, Fear of God, Martine Rose, JW Anderson, and VETEMENTS.

11. Supply Store
We’ve been going to Supply Store for the better part of 10 years, and while we find ourselves returning for the rare and sought-after sneakers, there’s a great selection of streetwear brands on offer for men as well. Some of our favourite brands include Comme des Garçons, Neighbourhood, Palace, Reebok, Vans and WTAPS. It’s also worth noting that this is the only store in Australia to sell Supreme at retail prices, not resale. Keep an eye on Supply’s Instagram account and get ready to run (not walk) to the store if you want to grab some.

12. P.A.M. Store Sydney
We used to head upstairs to P.A.M Store (Perks and Mini) when they sat right above Supply on Riley Street. These days, the brand resides around the corner on Palmer Street in Darlinghurst while offering the same great shopping experience. Originally from Melbourne, you’ll find their own brand Perks and Mini sitting alongside our favourites such as Stray Rats, WTAPS, Cav Empt, and Aries, along with Snow Peak accessories, toys, gifts, and even books.

16. Stussy
Not to be confused with ‘Stussy Australia’ that you’ll find in the likes of General Pants Co. the flagship Stussy store in Sydney is home to a truly timeless (and completely different) collection of high-quality pieces that blend Carharrt workwear with a Supreme aesthetic. The iconic street-wear brand is our one-stop shop for hoodies, tees and casualwear. And while the price points are higher than your average menswear brands like Polo Ralph Lauren or Carharrt themselves, the Stussy logo has become an internationally recognised emblem at this point.

Another popular brand, Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress) is a division of the American brand Carhartt, and the brand is all about durable, comfortable clothes for men. Pieces Boutique is Sydney’s ultimate stop for all the best designers, with a focus on Japan and Paris regions. The store houses brands such as Heron Preston, Mastermind Worldwide, Palm Angels, and Yohji Yamamoto so expect prices to be higher than those at INCU.
