Pacifico Optical Drops Italian Inspired Sunglasses Line

Australian eyewear label Pacifico Optical wants to brighten your mood and enhance your style with a new collection of sunglasses inspired by the Italian coastline. The Bondi label launched the Shades of Europe collection earlier this month with 12 new styles priced at $159 or $195 for polarized lenses.

Pacifico Optical has a habit of naming its styles after streets in Bondi, and the Shades of Europe collection is no exception. The new ‘Lucius’ and ‘Lola’ frames available in a range of colours sit alongside a new take on the popular ‘Buckler’ which includes two fresh transparent colours of its own.

Adding a contemporary feel to a classic design by using transparent acetate, the new frames are slightly thicker and squarish than what we’ve come to expect from Pacifico Optical and feature rounded edges.

“We are becoming more creative in the use of different ‘shades’, and unlike our past ranges that have been inspired by Australian flora, this range is inspired by the European flora and fruit colours,” said Alain Guglielmino, co-founder of Pacifico Optical.

“We have also experimented with a couple of lighter lenses, such as the Lucius – Capri Pink with Tan lens and the Lucius – Black with Citrus Orange lens.”

The desirable colour palette of Amalfi Blue, Tuscan Green, Capri Pink and Citrus Orange is inspired by the distinct European flora pastel greens of the shrubs and trees in the South of Italy and the pink bougainvillaea of Capri and Sicily.

The Pacifico Optical Shades of Europe collection is available now online, and you can find it via the link below.
